Default Home from Iron Butt ride!!!

Yeah haaaa!!!! Just got back from the Iron Butt ride...had breakfast in Snellvile, GA, lunch in New Orleans, and then a very late dinner in Lawrenceville, GA. Turned 1,076 miles in 21 hours, including over three hours in New Orleans cruising Bourbon Street, taking pictures at one of the old cemeteries, and having some lunch. It rained very hard for about 275 miles of it, and rained steadily for another 300 miles or so, but we were having way too much fun to care!!!! The Intruder 800 ran perfectly, and I was perfectly comfortable despite the fact that the bike is still dead stock. At the end of the ride I was in as good a shape as anyone...the others rode a full-dresser Harley, a Goldwing trike, a BMW full-dresser, and two tricked-out Volucia 800s. I picked on then for needing such luxuries as windscreens, aftermarket seats, and highway pegs, and they picked on me for having such a small fuel tank, making then all stop every 125 miles for gas...all in all, a truely great time with some great people!!
Thanks for all the well wishes...I am going to bed now that i am warm and dry...

congratulations on completing your ride. Now comes the fun of waiting for the paperwork to get certified.

I did my ride in September, going from Sylvan Lake Alberta to Moose Jaw Saskatchewan and back in 20hrs 1min on my 83 GS650GLD. Total distance was 1759km (1093 miles)

Feels good to be home again doesn't it?

Yup, it sure felt great to pull into the driveway and be home...but I was up and riding again 8 hours later! Comparing notes with the others, it would appear that the larger aftermarket tire the previous owner put in my new Intruder makes the speedometer read slow: they showed about 40+ more miles that I did, so i guess i rode more like 1,120 miles Saturday.
Man, congrat to you also, especially on an old GS650.
The six of us are sending in our paperwork in one packet, so at least they only have to certify one ride, and not all six of them. Can;t wait to get the patch though
