Default Harley Festival

I just got this e-mail and even though they're "Hardly Drivables" I think it is cool and should be a crazy weekend.

"Good morning all.
There is a festival being planned for our downtown for August 2005 by the Moncton Chapter of the Harley Davidson Club (HOG). This festival is hoped to be as big, if not bigger than the Atlantic Nationals Car show, only that the Harley festival will be focused in our downtown for the entire weekend (a long one too!). Dale Dorcas from HOG would like to meet with as many of you as possible next week to fill you in and to get your input. I am proposing two meeting times. Please let me know which one works best for you. And if you know of any other restaurant/bar owners downtown who would likely be interested in this, by all means, let them and me know. "

FYI The Atlantic Nationals Car Show is a huge Hot Rod and antique car show here every July. It's really crazy. That guy from the TV show Dennis Gage comes to it.

I'll be working in a restaurant right downtown in the heart of it. It will be very busy. That carshow is the busiest weekend of the year for us.

I'm not a fan of the price. If I had the money, I would get more metrics as apposed to one Harley. However I think the silver V-Rod is a sweet looking machine.

I was looking at the V-ROD before I found my GSX 1400. Once I saw the Suzuki, and compared the specs, it was an easy choice.

V-ROD: 1400ccm motor, 14 liter tank, CHF 29'000 pricetag
GSX1400: 1402ccm motor, 22 liter tank, CHF 14'000 pricetag

So, 50% more tank volume, 50% lower price - that was a no-brainer. Haven't looked back for a second!

Yeah, I like them. The Road King is a pretty cool ride. As far as loud goes, they are only as loud as the owners modifies them to be - just as many metric cruisers are too frickin' loud. Some people just can't stand the thought that they may not be the center of attention - so they put on loud pipes and piss people off.

That isn't limited to cruisers...

One of the most uncomfortable experiences I have had on my bike was going into a tunnel with a Ducati right in front of me. That bike was so f'ing loud that it actually hurt ... and I was wearing a full-face Shoei helmet with the visor closed!

The V-rod is my favorite HD, too.
