Hi all, So I am keeping my bike outside (as I don't have a garage and live in an apartment building) and have been using a disc lock to prevent roll away theft (not as worried about the pick it up into a truck thing, until it happens of course....) Anyways, I have been noticing that, when I remove the lock, some of its paint is left on the rotor. Being outside (in this nasty rainy weather that I have) the rotors are generally a little rusty-ish looking before I ride, but it seems to buff off after getting on the brakes a few times, although the front brake has been squeaking. I was thinking that some brake-clean is in store for the near future. My question: should I be concerned at all? With the disc lock hurt / reduce the life of my rotors, or is this purely cosmetic? Doesn't look like it has been scratching the rotor or anything. Thanks! |
