Electric gear = good. I love it, because the liner is a nice windbreaker for those days in the 50s, and then plug it in and stay warm no matter how cold it gets. My longest trip with it was a 17 hour day, going from Kansas City to Atlanta. It was 5 when I left KC, it never got above about 15 degrees the whole trip, and it was right at zero when I pulled into Atlanta at 3 AM. I had to pull the choke knob out to make the bike idle when I got off the interstate. Started with the whole suit, at the first gas stop removed the socks because my feet were sweating too much. I was toast warm the whole trip, and did not have the controller all the way up either, despire no windshield on the bike. So I am pretty sure it can never get so cold I can not ride with the electric gear. As long as the roads are clear, I'm riding.

I had the GS in for it's first service yesterday, and got to ride it home last night from Moon Motors in Monticelo, it was 53* by the time I got home, (about an hour on the slab) the heated grips & heated jacket liner kept me nice & toasty.

Did you try out the bar mufs Clint?

I did. I guess I failed to mention that. I really like them except that they make a sudden reach for the brake a bit hairy. I imagine I'll get used to it. My grip heaters are still too hot to leave on full-time.

43 degrees, moderate rain, moderate-heavy sidewind.

To live a full life, every day should contain either art or adventure.

The hard part will come when my gear proves to have not dried by the end of the day. Putting on damp stuff isn't my idea of pleasant. Kinda like being the second person to go waterskiing and putting on the wet life vest.

Bring a small fan to work and blow dry them out during the day.

I thought of that this morning. There's probably one here somewhere.

Just tell your co workers that this stuff is designed to be "in the wind" and you have to keep air on it to keep the warranty valid, they won't think your strange, I promiss.

Looks like we're going to get blasted again this afternoon. At least it warmed up.

Well, I am IMMENSELY relieved. I just called Gerbings and she said my liner is out for delivery today. Great service, both with shipping and customer support. This was from the discount outlet, too.
