|  Brought a new toy home last night
Found a midnight blue 1994 Intruder VS800 with only 7800 miles on it. One owner, always garaged, less than 500 miles on new Metzeler 880 tires, drag pipes, original exhaust in a box, lots of chrome goodies, one small scratch on the front fender...talked the owner down to $2000 cash (a wad of 20s talks a lot louder than a check) so I took it home! Which left me with two perfectly good Intruders sitting out front, one teal and one midnight blue, one with 30,000 miles and the other with only 7800 miles...what a quandry! Do I really need two bikes? Hell yes!!! So today I took the day off work and started taking my teal 96 Intruder apart to turn it into a chopper, with a solo seat, fishtail drag pipes, 12-degree rake triple tree, 8-inch over extended forks, a fresh coat of teal paint, and a rebuilt engine with more HP.  I'll post some picks as the project progresses. My goal is to have it done by about May or June...and in the meantime, I will ride the heck out of the other one. Next weekend I am off to New Orleans, then Mexico over the Thanksgiving break, and then Key West in December. I figure to double the miles on the new intruder in about 5 weeks.  |
