Default Something I found to help painting parts

I am only posting this information for the purpose of others finding it later. I don't really expect any responses, so if you read this and think "Do I respond?" don't worry about it. If it never gets a response, my feelings wont be hurt. But.....to get on with it, I used something to aid in the painting of my bike a few months ago that really made a big difference.

Sanding is something that no one likes. It cramps up your hand, you are never really completely done....always something else you can sand that didn't get hit as well, can't hold onto big or small pieces and it just gets really frustrating.

The solution that I found is to get an EXPO dry erase board eraser...the plastic one with a small foam pad on it. Put the paper on the foam part of the eraser, grit down of course , and fold the sides of the paper up and tape with electrical tape all the way around the edges to ensure a non-slip bond to the eraser. Then, sand happy It was a lot easier to hold and a LOT easier on my hand. Never got another cramp. The foamy pad also helps to keep a lot more paper in contact with the item being sanded compared to a solid block that doesn't give at all. Curves, flat areas, corners, fenders, the tank....all very easy to sand accurately and completely with this little item. I hope that this may help those of us without access to better tools. It's cheap and very effective.
