Thumbs up Five Days – Four Races

I just came back from a whirlwind tour of the great state of Kansas, (it isn’t as flat as I had imagined). I was following the Flat Track racers through their tour of some of the local fairs. Liberal Kansas was first on Friday, then Oberlin on Saturday, and ending with two days of racing in Stockton on Monday and Tuesday.

The turn out was great and I went through a lot of batteries and flash cards. I’m still sifting through all the photos. I have gotten through all of the Stockton photos and I’m working on the other two races now.

But I needed a break so I thought Id share a few of my favorites.

Seven time GNC winner Chris Carr

Brock Schwarzenbacher

A trifecta of top ten GNC racers Joe Kopp, Chris Carr, and Sammy Halbert

Davey Durelle

I guess when you go sideways in the dirt at 90+ mph this must seem like a tame way to get to the track. The guy in the tent is #47 Colt Chebultz to be seen in another photo later.

Everyone participated in a parade through Stockton on Monday. Over 200 bikes and I doubt that more then two or three were street legal. Helmets were mandatory, all other gear was optional.
