Default First ride of the summer -- HOORAY

I'm happy to say that today was my first ride of the summer! After a dislocated ankle and broken fibula (see this link for details) suffered on Memorial Day weekend and being laid up for two and a half months, I'm happy to say that I'm back on two feet and got up on two wheels for the first time since before the accident. When I first got hurt, I thought for sure I wasn't going to be able to ride until mid-September at the earliest, so this is pretty exciting stuff for me.

Anyway, I took the Bandit out for a ride out into the foothills of the Cascade Mountains after work today, and had a great time, in spite of some awful rush-hour traffic. I've got a steel plate and nine screws in my leg, but I've regained strength and coordination, and the boots I have provide plenty of support, so I figured I'd give it a shot. It went great--I can't say I'm full strength, but I don't have any problems getting on the bike or walking it in the worst parts of the traffic. Once I got out of the traffic and opened it up a bit, I was in heaven!

Just really happy and had to do some attention whoring.
