How much did you spend on modding it ?

Very nice, very classy, very tasteful.

I took my full fairing off because it makes the engine run hotter.

Uh...

You don't want to know the answer to that question.

Is that HID you have for headlights ? If so, can you tell me where you got it ? Was installation a PITA ? I'm thinking about doing a HID conversion on my SV to improve night-time illumination of the road.

The swingarm and rear wheel look like they were taken from a Triumph, probably the Speed Triple.

That's where I got the sticker placement from. Couldn't quite match the font on the numbers tho.

Took me two weeks over the winter. Used some Infinity G35 Bi-xenon headlights, glued into the stock reflector shells. It was a PITA baking the headlights apart and putting them back together. Took me a couple of old rashed headlights to get it right.

1993 Honda VFR 750 swinger. If I could find a Triumph 955i hub to swap out I would, the spindle wheels have a lot more aftermarket options than the 4 lug honda.

That's what was gettin' me.

I knew Wookie was right that it was a conversion, but what, I couldn't grasp. Then I could see the SV Spar when he pointed it out.

Nice job.

And you even wrapped the pipe !!

Inspired by your work, I recently added a bi-xenon headlight system on my SV and it works great. The response of switching between hi and low beam is immediate and I can see further and have a wider field of vision.

Are the rear view mirrors from an Gixxer ?

Man, you've got a camera and a navi installed. How's that affecting the battery/alternator ?

Still a SV.

Looks nice, but...

Still can't understand why anybody would pay that much to do a makeover on a SV...

Buy a gixxer - cheaper, and you get the real deal right away.

- my 2 cents

The same reason people will customize cars. They want something different and something that turns heads. I personally leave my bikes stock as my car. But different people want different things. His bike did make the front page of Killboy.com. Something that mine never would on it's own. It is no different than the cruiser owners who spend a lot more than he did.

I've thought about moding my SV. However, I am just not creatively enough to come up with ideas.

Here is a list of mods I've done to my SV in the 3.5 years since I've bought it:

1. Rear sets
2. Fairings (which I've removed because of a few cracks due to a unplanned off-road crash
3. Bi-Xenon headlights

I've thought about other mods, like a larger fuel tank, hard-shelled saddle bags and tail luggage case, heated grips. But I haven't carried out the mods for various reasons, like compatibility with magnetic tank bags, alternator/generator capabilities, etc.

i'd customize the ZZR... but can't really afford to. wouldn't mind a 4-1 exhaust, add gps, maybe different mirrors, change the rear suspension, different grips, better brake lines, new seat (more comfy at least)... oh the list and I just can't justify it

now tell me how many people do you know that has a ZZR that's completely stock. Not many roll like i do

My neighbor?

He doesn't get her out of dry-dock that often either.

But...he did spring for a flashy set of L.E.D.'s for her though...I've yet to it after sundown.

I've got another neighbor that's got a brand new SV 650 that he sneaks out on about one-two in the morning, and takes a wobbly spin around the neighborhood on.

Either of them rides goes up for sale.....I'll be first in line.

My modded SV costs less than a brand new GSX-R, and does a lot of things better.

The suspension is set up perfectly. It has more touring ability. Gets 150-200 per tank consistently. And it definitely turns more heads than a stock GSX-R.

It's my daily driver. More than 26,000 on the clock and counting.
