cricket and rider... it depends a lot on what it looks like. For example, after losing that Virago, I realized I liked it when the bikes already had the bags attached. That will prob be the only mod i'd do, had I the skills that all other riders have when it comes to modifying the bikes -- so if it already comes with them, that's a plus for me. (b/c I can't do crap with mods). I hadn't even thought to open up my craigslist area to florence or even greenville for that matter. So that's something that i'll need to try. And I'd like to see pics of that scratch. If it's small it's no biggie, if it's larger that means I have to get my BIL to work on it for me. I don't know what stock means exactly. The only comparison I can think of is if it's like when we talk about cars, how we say things come standard? If that's what stock means, then I understand. It also depends on timing. I'm doing the class first, in play with my BIL's advice to me to see if the 250cc bikes they use in the MSF class are plenty of power for me to handle. Apparantly, he's giving me more credit than I'm due. I tell him that I drive my cars a bit differently than I'd drive the bikes. He says that if after the class that I think I can handle a faster engine -- like 500 or 750 -- then it'd be better to buy it like that first, instead of buying a 250 then realizing I could go larger/faster (selling and buying again). It's decent advice, so I'll wait and see. Please don't hold the bike for me. It'll be 2-3 weeks before I'm able to really be inches away from getting my own bike. So if she is able to find a buyer before I get my indecisive butt in order, then she should sell it off. So I really appreciate the heads up, but I need to do the class first and then decide what cc engine I want. Hopefully by then a bike that's just meant for me will fall into my lap. |

I know this is a little late, but here is an interesting article about 250 cc bikes. It' from 2001 but it still holds up.Beginner Motorcycles Comparison: Honda 250 Rebel. Kawasaki 125 Eliminator, Suzuki GZ250, Yamaha 250 Virago - Motorcycle Cruiser Magazine |
