I am planning a beach vacation to the outer banks for late June. Ocracoke and Hatteras area. After checking motel rates I have decided to tent camp. I have the tent etc... and know how to fit it onto the bike. But, I have never been there and am wondering if any readers might have knowledge about campgrounds that are bike friendly? The area is of course sandy soil, so parking area should be paved. If anyone has ridden bike on route 12, I'd like to hear any tips or advice on campgrounds or whatever.
