Your right. I've caught a lot of cars but each time I did, I really didn't know why I did or what to do with it. Usually the cops just asked me to let 'em go.

Do you know what pisses me off? Those female riders who say "oh I'm a girl. I can't pick up/move my bike! Can you guys do it for me?"

There are more female riders but a lot of them have this attitude. So they HAVE to ride in a group. In other words, they have to ride with guys who will do all the hard work for them. I hate this!! I KNOW you can pick up your bike because that was part of the test when you got your license! And if you can't take care of yourself, you shouldn't be riding in the first place, because there is no guarantee that there will always be a helping hand.

Of course, riders do help each other so if I drop my bike or crash, there will most likely be somebody who will run to help me. And I will truely be thankful and receive the help, with grace. But I WILL NOT EXPECT PEOPLE TO HELP ME as if it was a female privilege.

So much for my ranting. lol

Now thats funny Kay
because here in the states most ride bikes they cant pick up
guys and gals both
it's supposed to be part of the test but most testers forgo it

I wont get a Goldwing because I cant pick it up but everyobe keeps telling me to get a Goldwing, I say "I cant pick it up" they say "So neither can anyone else"
Thats why when I can get another bike I will stay in the same weight class
of about 500lbs

+1

The biggest bike I would ever consider is the st1300, maybe. Ain't picking it up if it tips over, either.

LOL So true!
But I forgot to mention one important thing....you can go to the police dept. yourself and take the test. But most people take the test at the riding schools they've learned to ride, so the tests will be conducted using their bikes.

So the "limited to small bikes" license will be done using CB125 (Honda), the "mid size" using CB400 and the "no limit" test will be done using the CB750s. Still heavy bikes, but no way near as heavy as those huge bikes. Once you have the "no limit" license, you're free to go and get whatever heavy bike you want. lol

So yes I understand how people won't be able to pick up their own bikes if you have one of those heavy ones. But here, I was talking about girls riding bikes such as CB400 or any of the sports bikes and standard bikes that are not THAT heavy.

The heaviest out of mine is the Kawi Zephyr 750 and I will pick it up myself. I won't get anything heavier because I know I will be in trouble if I dropped it. I'll have to say, more female riders drop bikes than guys in the first place because they have less reach. If they can't pick it up and they drop it more, how can they ever ride alone?

I think it's the attitude that bugs me....like "we're women, so men should do this for us." I've seen some who won't even park their bikes by themselves. They'll just get off and leave it to the guys to park it for them. Agggrrrrhhhh.......

I thought that there was a button on the Goldwing that would put it back upright. It has motors for everything else ...

Pretty darn close to it, eh. My dad is 75, and has the 1800 Wing. He is trying to decide whether to convert it to a trike, or get the retractable wheel set-up for his.

Last year a guy dropped his brand new GW crossing a pipe sideways at a marina, it took 3 guys to lift it back up. And I thought the HD was heavy.

The ole 91 Old's wagon...a Clark Griswald special!!!! It was really my wifes mother's car, but she's waaay too old and gave it to my 16 year old son....

I think it comes in handy for him and his girlfriend.......It may not look pretty, but it sure is more than what I had at 16!!!!!

It runs fine to and from school, it should hold out until college too!!

With a kid driving it? no.

Kids always have this tendency to do 1 of 2 things
1) stop when they shoulda kept going (like an onramp, halfway down)
2) go when they shoulda stopped (like the yield sign at the intersection)

Come to think of it, that's how most accidents happen; it's just that kids are more prone to do these kinds of things.
