Grade 11 shop students at Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute (SFDCI) are building their own motorcycles. (that's like 30 minutes away from me) The course description from the school's course calendar... Transportation Technology – Custom Fabrication, Grade 11, College Preparation TTJ3C2 (966) This course examines the infrastructure required for the production and operation of custom built “special purpose” vehicles. Students will design, construct, and modify special purpose vehicles using safe work practices and current technology. They will develop effective communication and teamwork skills when developing solutions to custom fabrication problems. The students will explore career opportunities in this field and analyse the impact and importance of custom fabricated vehicles on society and the environment.
