Found this site AFTER buying a bike. A little late, but a great/useful site. The used bike evaluation Sticky (http://www.clarity.net/~adam/buying-bike.html) is a great article. Happy to say the bike I got seems to come through the articles items quite well. Oh, yeah, I picked up a '97 Suzuki Katana 600. Hadn't ridden in a LONG time (might as well consider myself a new rider); went through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation beginner course (which got me my licence in the process), then bought a bike. Can't say enough positive things about the course. I'm very glad I went that route rather than riding first and taking the course later. I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time reading the articles here. Last thing: I have NO idea why I waited this long to get a bike. |
