Default $500 Reward! My bike was stolen!

Thanks to Freakinout for directing me here.

My bike was stolen last night (or early this morning). It is a red/black 2001 Kawasaki Ninja EX250. It is almost completely stock, except that I removed the rear turn signals. The front sprocket cover was off at the time that it was stolen. Check my web site for the pics. It has about 2,750 miles on it.

Please keep an eye out for it, including 2001 parts on Ebay, CycleTrader, or anywhere else you can think of. If you have any other ideas how I can recover this bike, I would love to hear them.

I live in St. Paul, Minnesota. The bike was parked in my underground parking spot with my car. Interestingly enough, they left the Lexus LS400 alone and took the bike instead, even though the car is worth several times the value of the bike. I do not have comprehensive insurance. I have both keys. The license plate reads 82-591, and it expires in February 2005. I reported it to the St. Paul police.

I am offering a $500 reward for information leading to the conviction (or severe pummelling) of the thieves. You can reach me on the board here or 646-435-9706 or 651-592-8367. Thanks.
Curt

I don't know that I'd post my telephone number on the internet in the same place that you tell people you have a new bike and an expensive car. It's just better not to, I think.

If anyone can read your post they can also p/m you or leave a post here as to where you can email them. Or just leave an email address here.

Sorry about your ride.

You could damn near find a used one for not much more than $500.

Yep. The $500 isn't to get my bike back, it's to get the thieves.

It's certainly possible. It's a big building, so there are a lot of keys floating around. Even without a key it's not that hard to get in if you look friendly.

Thanks to everyone for your kindness and keeping your eyes peeled. It's been more than a day now, and it hasn't turned up in a ditch somewhere, so it is probably working it's way through the parts channels. Keep your eyes open for red fairings for a Kawasaki Ninja 250R. Thanks everyone!

I must say, you're taking this pretty well. If it were me, I'd be furious. The one thing I hate most is a thief. You work hard to earn money to buy the things you want and then someone comes along and takes them because they don't want to put forth the effort to do the same.
