Default It doesn't get better than today!!!

Temp is 81 with 45% humidity, not a cloud in the damn sky, the wind in my hair and face just crusing around for the hell of it (no helmet and jacket today). I took the long way home from Pep Boys, like the extra 10 mile long way home cause it's just so damn pretty out. And oh yeah the streets of Orlando are alive with bikers!! Can't wait to get up to Daytona Beach later on. It's gonna be like this for the next week, man I picked the best week to go on vacation!!!!

humm I guess you can edit a title on this software. Cool

Bikers don't usually talk about it - but it is a very real danger. If you are enjoying the day, then the cagers are too. Any maybe they are daydreaming about being at home or whatever, and not paying attention to that guy with a t-shirt on a little yellow machine in front of them. In any accident, you lose. They have a scratch or dent on the hood, and you have it on your body. Turns a good day into a bad one real quick.

Are you kidding me?? It makes up nearly 50% of the posts here. I make my choices and will deal with the actions that result thank you very much.

Maybe you should come to Biketoberfest and preach to the masses there the weather is going to in the mid 80s and mostly sunny and not a chance of rain.

Are you going to pay my airfare?

I wear gear in summer - I have a comfortable mesh jacket that has great airflow, but still offers protection for my shoulders, elbows and spine. And I have leather pants that are very comfortable and stay cool too. I was wearing gear here on days where the temprature was in the high 90s.

Yes, wearing a t-shirt would be cooler. But not safer. I choose to be safe. If you choose to be cool, that's your choice. You are an adult - free to choose. I just wouldn't recommend that choice to anyone I care about.

If you have ever been part of a rescue crew or medical team, you would probably think the way I do. I've seen and heard enough pain and suffering to know better.

Why would you even mention no helmet if you didn't want to get a reaction? Guess what we don't care if you're stupid enough to think that because it's a nice day that you're not going to crash. Actually , you're probably more apt to crash due to increased traffic. But hey..., good logic.

People who crash or do un expected things make up just about a 100 percent of my customers. To not wear gear is just foolish, to try and justify it even dumber. It is one thing to go down and wreck or damage a bike, even worse to be injured for life; so you may no longer enjoy riding like you did in the past. I have been down many times, I wear full gear, I have wrecked my share of bikes but never been seriously injured or had to spend a night in the hospital.

to be fair ive never ridden a bike with no helmet as its the law over here so i would prob always wear one as if u keep the visor up you dont get hot in it anyway, but then america is just a wee bit hotter than the uk. me and my friends always ride in jeans and a bike jacket but then jeans offer no protection at all and the jacket keeps us brits warm.

They say that most of the fatalities are for riders in there mid 40s with either a long period of not riding or being a first time rider, first bike

I would guess that most 40 year old new riders are on cruisers not sport bikes, also that it would be more common to see a rider with out gear on a cruiser than a sport bike.

Scary when a 18 year old on a race bike is safer than a old guy on a boulevard cruiser

Only my assumptions

Thats true about the ages. Soad, there hasn't been much of a factual study done since the HURT report. I'd be interested in seeing some current figures.

Dare i say bait?? Cause I knew that someone if not everyone would single that one statement out above any and everything else I wrote in that post. Pretty good logic there.

Yeah you say that but noone ever seem to miss and opt to tell someone they are stoopid or a squid for doing what you justify as unsafe or reckless. If you don't care don't past in the thread. If you think I'm foolish, okay I hear you so let's not bring it up in every single post I make. Your not my daddy or mommie so stop telling what I can and can't do, and what I should wear.
Thank you.

I don't think you're foolish, just ignorant. I hope when you learn, the price isn't too high.

lol, nice avatar. your absolutely right too. they yell at stunting, and thier lack of gear, when they are in gear, they yell at them for beiing dangerous, when they are in a closed parking lot, they still yell at them for doing tricks. they yell at you for not wearing a helmet, you wear a helmet, they yell at you for not wearing a jacket, leather pants, gloves, boots, nd not obeying the speed limit. i think everybody here just needs something to yell at. either that or all of them need to stop riding motorcycles because its too dangerous.

I really don't have any desire to repeat myself, so just read my post from last night (my time): http://www.suzuki-bikes.com/forum/vi...?p=41987#41987

Well I can say that not everyone is of your mind set or believe in what you do and some of those people just might have more riding experience then you and others do. Oh I know the mods are behind you, I've read thier posts they are quite gear happy. However If you have to agree with them to post on here then maybe that should part of the rules when you sign up or maybe a sticky on top of this forum. Fall in line or get out, eh??

When I get back from Biketoberfest I'll post some pics that will make your head spin and get you back on your soapbox. Untill then........
