Default I just HAD to hire this young woman!

I am having some rather serious health problems that popped up recently, so I am walking around with a cane, taking a LOT of medication, and probably will not be able to ride again for several months. So about three weeks ago I broke down and bought a stupid car(yuck), and put out an ad for a live-in personal assistant. They get free room and board (private bath, large bedroom with walk-in closet) in exchange for doing the cleaning, laundry, dishes (I love to cook but can't bend to unload the dishwasher), taking care of the cat box, and the other day to day things I am having trouble doing. They also have to drive me in my stupid car to the occasional doctor's visit that I should not be driving myself home from. I could focus my energy on getting better, and they get a free place to live for the next 6 months or so.
I got several responses, but the third one to interview for the job was a 22 year old female grad student, an English major at Emory University. I was looking for someone older, but we exchanged several emails and phone calls, decided that the job duties were something she was OK with. Non-smoker, non-drinker, loves animals, mother a nurse, father a doctor, fairly introverted and quiet, mature for her age....my brain said she was too young, but my gut instinct had a good feeling about it, so I thought I'd give her a chance and at least interview her.

But she showed up for the 'interview' on one of these:

I hired her on the friggin spot!!!!!!!

That was two weeks ago, and so far it is working out perfectly. Turns out she has an older Lexus sedan for a daily driver, and gets a nice check every month from a scholorship she won, so she does not have to work. My home has never been cleaner, my laundry basket is always empty, the houseplants have never been greener, and the cats love her to death. Glad I went with my insticts...She's cute too
