Default anyone here remember..

a motorcycle article in 1988 about a gsxr1100 motor transplant into a katana 600 frame?

Only major problem noted, was the exhaust touching the underbelly, & just fabing some mounting brackets.

I used to have it, I thought..
but for the life of me cannot remember the Mag..

TIA

Peace,
Busafied

I know its possible.

Its also possible to stick a bandit 1200 engine in a katana frame.

Yea, I swapped out a Gixxer motor in my wifes '95 kat 750.
I just cannot for the life of me, remember whether it was a major pain in the butt or not for the 600 chassis, because the article was in 1988 :p
The 750 chassis swaps straight out with a 'oil cooled 1100, same mounting points.
I think one hole on the top mount had to be enlarged, but it is straight up otherwise, well except for the pickup, I used the Kats on my last swap.

Thanks,
Busafied

I have the article somewhere.

Why not just buy a GSX-R? You can't polish a turd.

I think it would be pretty sweet to have an old katana with 600 stickers on the side that kicked butt.

To answer your direct question...

It is not a matter of polishing turds..
but, building it and keeping it looking like a Turd

Oh, and BTW, I like your '87, I have an '86 in the garage...

here was my 99 SRAD...
