Default luggage racks

Hi everybody! Here comes another newbie! I just got my license, did a MSF rider course for TOTAL beginners and got a Boulevard S50. Scary!! After the 125cc Suzuki we rode at the course, I have yet to get used to the much heavier S50. But she's a beauty! I am planning on riding around town, eventually (when I don't feel like a fool on my new bike) to the Karate Dojo where I work and want to take my gear bag (that's sparring gear, not motorcycle gear) with me. Alas, my new Boulevard does not come with a backrest or luggage rack. Which, actually, looks much better to me. But it seems that the OEM luggage rack only can be installed with the backrest, which I don't want and don't need. No way would I have a passenger...I searched near and far and can't seem to find a luggage rack that would fit the S50. There is one by highway hawk that fits the 800 Intruders, but not my S50. Anybody have any ideas? Would a used sissy bar off an older Intruder fit the bill? I'm thinking of sawing off the top or just use the mountings.

Have been reading a lot of your post and am thrilled by this community!

thanks !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the welcomes!

Skysail, 'cause I have been skydiving an eternity ago, sailing too, before the kids...

Now I'm just trying to get the wind in my face on a motorcycle, another one of my "50 things to do before I die".

Hope to get some mileage before the weather turns nasty, but I'm not ready to tackle the LIE yet.

Looking forward to posts on this site and enjoying the old ones!

Thanks again everybody!

If you're not carrying a passenger, you could bungee your stuff to the passenger seat - maybe use a cargo net.

My passenger seat cannot be taken off, the OEM's is an integrated driver/passenger seat. Unfortunately it is also quite small and seems too little to carry a bag. Maybe I'll have to resign myself to a backpack or wait till somebody develops a rack for the new Boulevards.

Geez - you're right. I recommend going right back to your dealer and trading that S50 on a C50

Sorry, thought I read C50 ( didn't have this problem when they had proper names, nice going Suzuki !)
