I'm enjoying my ride home from work, although it's the 4th time since Friday afternnon I've had to do so. The weather is perfect for riding. I'm just cruising along(luckilly) and my 6th sense kicks in. I immediatly recognize it and let off the throttle. Then it happens. From nowhere, with no signal, a car cuts across my front fender from the right lane. I grab for the horn and the front brake, luckilly only missed the horn, and avoided sure disaster. I got a real good look at his rear bumper, and didn't notice a "How's my driving, call 1800" sticker on it. I really wanted to have a face to face discussion with him in the abscence of an 800 nuber to call. I know this tool wanted to stay on the road we were on(6th sense again), but he made a quick left. This guy is really annoying me now, so I turn behind him. Now he guns it, running like a scared b&*^%! This really pisses me off, because he not only has no regard for property or for human life, but he thinks he can outrun me. Luckilly I had an attack of common sense, and I backed far enough off to not put myself in danger. I really wish to do more than talk at this point. Stupidity really paid off for this guy, as he was the last car to make it to the light(he turned left onto the road we left earlier, good to know my senses are in tune). I'm happy to be writing this now and venting, having avoided a ride in an ambulance, paddy wagon, or meat wagon. It's funny, he became really alert of his surroundings when he thought I was coming after him, although he still showed no concern for possibly causing a wreck. I'm not an intimidating guy, all of 5'7" and 170 pounds(though most can easilly tell I'm a wrestler). I'm sure he had to be illegal in some way for him to take off like that, and it's probably best I didn't get to find out. I know road rage is illegal, but on a bike wouldn't it be considered self defense? Sorry for the long read, and thanks for allowing me a forum to get this off my chest. |
