| I too am considering the V-strom 650. I really like the Bandit 1250, but think I could have plenty of fun with a V-Strom and it may be better suited to my riding experience (8000 miles on an S50, Team Oregon IRT, RSP and ART). The Bandit just plain turns me on! But I think I should work up to that kind of power and the V-Strom seems like the bike to do it on. My one concern is seat height, but I guess we'll see how the test ride feels.

| I went to sit on the VStrom 650 today - I can flat foot on one side which is how I stop 99% of the time (Right foot on brake, left foot down) With both feet down I am on my toes. My concern is maneuvering the bike into parking spaces etc. I didn't have time for a test ride, but I did get this cool picture when I walked out of the dealership.

| I got to mention here that it takes only about 1 hrs time and couple bucks for lowering links to get the Vstrom down to say a DR's height. If you are looking for an all around bike and the DR's and KLR's make the list but the Vstrom doesn't because of height, I wouldn't let that keep you from buying a trutly great bike Dan
