I don't think anyone left negative comments. We simply stated that it's possible the story was made up. I'm not saying that Madura lied or anything, but maybe the person that hold him heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend, who heard it from a friend....you know how that goes. Maybe it did happen, but we don't know and it is still our right to be skeptical.

Here's the way a forum should work:

1) Read
2) Comprehend
3) Post

If you are going to skip a step, please make it the last.

I plainly said this was a friend of my brother. In fact, he told me that he hasn't taken the guy's number off speed dial because he doesn't have the heart to delete it. They went to a security school together and became friends.

Most people could not have done what he did. But the man was very well trained in the and was used to reacting much faster than normal people. I think that any parent would have done what he did, but most people don't have the reaction time and the ability to respond under pressure. He could and did.

Once again, Axel, you missed. Try to get me on something where you have grounds for your petulant blather.

No, Madura, you are missing the point. I don't have to believe anything you say. Maybe it did very well happen. I just simply said that it could be made up, as many others did, yet you are taking it very personally that I said it. Why you're singling me out, I don't know. You don't seem to be jumping on everyone else's case who disagreed. I don't know why it bothers you that others can have a different opinion than yours. You seem to be a very antagonizing person and I think you enjoy it.

I think he's just a lil pevved that most the posts he makle get mocked.

Well, althought it is your right to say what you want, it is also a right to skip the thread. I mean hey, if you don't beleive it, why post? it's just abunch of BS anyway?

What's to be gained from that?

In any case, i think it's totally possible. reaching behind you to grab the kid IS NOT that difficult is the proper time is given. I don't hae a son, but i'd do the same for my bro, and i know he'd do the same for me.

Another story like this happened near my old home. There was a jet taking off of the willow run airpost. It was experiemental, and was undergoing flight testing. after the run way, there is a over pass, on a high way. Well the jet lost one engine, and it's explosion blew the left wing off. the plane spun upside down, hit the ground and left a huge fireball.

When rescue workers where moving through the after math, they found a 3 year old kid crying. she had burns on her back, except in a few areas. those areas where shaped like arms/hands. they found her car, and her mother's body was burnt to a crisp. she grabbed her daughter and used her own body as a human sheild.

That is pretty sad. Were many cars hit by the wreckage? Did the pilot have a chance to bail out or was it a commercial aircraft? Did the kid heal up ok?

Before anyone rushes to criticize my previous post, I may as well apologize now and move on. I meant it to sound genuine and sincere, but I'm sure that's not how it will be taken.

It's ironic that you have Semper Fidelis in your sig and doubt the word of a Marine.

If I have to explain the irony, I'm simply not going to explain the irony.

How do I know you're not a virgin high-school brat with no life experience who thinks that crappy music is good and it's acceptable behavior to endanger other peoples' lives by squidding around on a lame bike, and who actually has no motorcycle of his own but thinks he knows a lot about them?

Umm... wait a minute...

Y'see . . . I believed it until you added in the "Nebraska" part. No one moves to Nebraska.

Most folks in the south aren't hicks. They are Southern Gentlemen, and the Yanks could take a lesson from us.

We hold the door for everyone:man, woman and child
Yanks look at it as a sign of weakness and dart through the door like they are the cat getting away withthe canary.

We nod our heads when we make eye contact, to acknowledge the fact that we have just met a fellow human being.
Yanks quickly look away, fearing that they might have to actually take a second and respect the other person, rather than continue on their self-centered path.

We say "Thank You" a lot. Many times when it's unwarranted. It's not uncommon for the waiter to say "Thank You," and the customer to respond with "Thank YOU."
Yanks only thank others when they feel they have something to gain.

I was up north one time, either in Michigan or Illinois, I went both places on that trip, so I don't remember which Yank state I was in. I was in a service station, and there was a guy whose car has run out of gas about 150 yards up the road, in plain sight of the attendant. The broken down guy wanted to use the gas can that was behind the counter. They told himn it wasn't for customer use in a tone of voice that said, "You idiot, you're up north. You know we don't lend things to anyone here." No one even batted an eye. They weren't willing to help their fellow man even the least bit.

I didn't help him either . . . 'cause he's a yank.

When you Yanks read this and think, "BS, I've never seen these things happen," remember this: We can pick out the ferners (YOU) pretty easily, and we know better than to waste our time being nice to someone that's not gonna' appreciate it.

[P.S. We'll always show your lady some respect, though. ]
