Default Riding around LA.

Here are a few photos from my recent rides up to Newcombs Ranch on CA-2.
THere are views from Angeles Forest Highway as well as Angeles Crest Highway, CA-2. The road doesn't go all the way through to Wrightwood as there is a section that has washed away, but the ride from the 210 up to Newcombs Ranch is fantastic. You can ride up there in the winter but you have to watch out for ice on the road. Riding in the summer is great as you are above the smog and the air is clear and the views are wonderfull.

Not to mention on thw weekends you can see some nice bikes in the parking lot.

i used to live there, was there a LOT.

Saw Jay Leno there four times, each time in a different classic car of his.

I kind of miss having a place like that where other riders gather, but the roads here in Colorado make up for it.

I love that drive. You should also take the back roads up to Big Bear. IMO, a better and less crowded ride. I do miss it cept for all the crap that goes with living in So. Cal.

Now they have a CHP officer up there who loves to pick on sport bike riders.

Yes there is. I can't remember his name, but he does harrass the guys a lot. I'm waiting for the snow to go so that the road crews will go up further and clean the road. There has been a lot of rocks on the road bought down by the melting snow. I went up to the tunnels a few weeks ago in my truck and it was tough going if you were in a car. Lots of big rocks all over the place. Southern Cal does have some great rides. Another one is riding up to Solvang via the coast road and then coming back through Santa Ynez and into the back of Santa Barbara. Anyway happy riding everybody. If you go out on Monday, have a fun and safe ride.

Officer Stout is the name....

We all know him by name. Two years ago, he tried to chase down someone on an R1, crossed over the DYL and head-on slammed into a Jeep. Allegedly, that was the 2nd or 3rd time he crashed trying to hunt down someone riding a sportbike. This guy seems to make it his mission to get the sportbike riders....
