| I was giving the bike a full on inspection the other day and found what looks like road paint overspray....all over everything! The reason i think it's roadpaint, is a couple of weeks ago we drove by some line painting trucks and it was a bit windy, they were painting the white lines and lone and behold...white specs all over everything. And just on the passing side when we went by I got it off the tank with some elbow grease and I'm aware a clay bar will work...but about those areas like in and around the engine compartment on the "M"...these are areas where a clay bar just won't work? She's cooked on good now, any help would be appreciated.

| You need to buy some Mother's California Gold clay. This stuff is a miracle for removing paint overspray of any kind and is a great detailing tool. You will need a bottle or two of detailing spray (any brand). You use that as a lubricant and rub the clay bar over the painted and chrome surfaces. Polish or wax to finish and you'll have a better finish than new. |

| Try a little nail polish remover on a q-tip, toothbrush, or strip of terry cloth on the end of a pencil in those areas where the clay bar won't fit.

| Thanks Dr...do you think it'll work even though it's cooked on now? What about the plastic bits? I had thought about that or gasoline, but worried about it being to corrosive?

| It should be OK on the metal, chrome, and painted parts. I'd check a hidden part of the plastic though- nail polish remover will turn clear plastic cloudy, so i donl;t know what it will do to plastic chrome.

"Wow nice paint job Geoff!" "Thanks, it's called Road Paint Overspray." Yeah, I know I'm not much help. But seriously though. That sucks, sorry to hear that happen to your bike. Can you maybe use a sharp blade and scrape off the specs?

| I'm thinking you might be able to talk to your dept of transportation and they'd fix it right up for you... Sorry. I had a moment of unabashed naivety. Back to real suggestions...
