Well now, this is a refreshing change from the "Can I use XXX oil in my bike" thread !!

Why would you think it would NOT be a good idea ??
And just to finish it off.........why would you want to do that in the first place ?

Like Harley, they like to push their branded fluids, coffee mugs, flip flops, etc., and use thinly veiled warnings that the earth could tilt off it's axis, if you used a non-brand replacement in their machines.

I no longer have a need for the radiator coolant for the M50. It's already pre-mixed with water so there is no bother to get a gallon of coolant and then go find a container to mix the ratio of coolant to water in, and then use it.

Is it just 50/50 ethylene glycol and water? If so, I wouldn't think it'd be a problem.

Here's the Material Safety Data Sheet

It appears to be mainly ethylene glycol, with some small amounts of propylene and diethylene glycol present, along with water.

I'd feel comfortable using it.

No problem using it. I use Maxima Coolanol in all my bikes. Much easier to buy already mixed. I also usually add a little Water Wetter in it. We did some tests w/ it on the race bikes, and it actually did reduce temps.

I find the product fairly genius for the convenience factor alone.

That, and the fact most use distilled water, means you don't have to go buy 2 things to mix.

Exactly. Not like that would put me on relief, or down to the soup line or anything.

Just...if you need a top off....pour it right in.

I was referring to the inconvience of it, that's 2 stops at 2 different stores. Plus, it's not like a bike radiator holds gallons and gallons of it either.
