Default Suddenly bike-less

Lancer and I are suddenly without our bikes! We went for a few short rides in the last few weeks, as the weather permitted. We have both noticed that the sitting positions on the '50's was not the most comfortable on our lower backs. Lancer mentioned this to a friend of ours who also rides. Last week, he complained to our friend again. Our friend said he knew someone who was looking for bikes for himself and his wife, and wondered if we would be willing to sell them our S and C 50's. We met with them this week, and the deal was done!

Now, being without the bikes seems very strange. We have started the search for something with a better riding position. We both like the riding position on some of the sport-touring bikes we have seen. We are going to take our time in looking, and make sure that we pick something that we can take longer trips on. After a few thousand miles on the cruisers, we are looking for a new experience.

Wish us luck in our search!

I fabricated a backrest for my bike yesterday. Took a long ride came home, made some adjustments, went riding again and now it seems perfect. AAAHHHHHH!! That did the trick.

Nice backrest! We tried something similar to that, but it did not help me as much as I had hoped. I rode quite a few miles in a lot of pain, and think I would enjoy it a lot more without the pain!

Another rider comes to her senses.

FJR, ST, Beemer, ST3, Concourse... I'm drooling vicariously.

If you are looking for a sport-touring type bike, I would recomend either the Bandit or FZ1.

3/8" RD bar from the local hardward store. Bent it to fit over the pillion, well close anyway, and the pad mount is 3/4 round drilled through at .406. The bracket mount is 1x1 bar stock. here is another pic showing the mount. The pic looks funny but the mount is not tight.

Only took me about 10 minutes and an innoscent trip to a suzuki dealership, a salesman saying crap like "Hey good buddy! Howabout this here motorcycle, its a 06 busa and if'n you buy it today I will knock off 2k from the sticker, throw in some discounts on gear... "
I tried to haggle and tell him to throw in a hooker or its a no go deal but I caved and bought the bike.. I got ripped off... he could have afforded me at least one hooker.. i mean sheesh! whats 5 minutes cost these days??!!

Thanks, everyone. We are excited again, with all of the new prospects. Now we just have to find time between work, and a hectic travel schedule for the summer to find the right bikes!

I think a sport tourer would be the ticket for you. I am a disabled Veteran with a very bad back. Cruisers kill my back. You sit too straight up with all the vibes. On a sport bike I am fine. The forward cant seems to take the pressure off my lower back. I have put in countless 500 to 1,000 mile days.
