Anyone have any riding plans for the weekend? If so, what routes will you be taking?

I think I'm doing a boring ride to Chico to visit some friends, about 2.5 hours of straight lines. Not exactly the most fun ride, but Chico is a college party town so once we get there, it should be entertaining.

You sd. Chico, and I'm thinking Chico TX, hahah, that would be a hella ride from CA, lol. If the weather is OK, we're gonna probably do a 100 miler.

I'll try to fit in a 2-hr ride one afternoon, weather and time permitting. My rides are almost always the same, but not boring. I have a little route that I take through the curvy areas of the nearby terra firma. If it ever gets boring, I'll just go in the other direction . . . totally different curves when you approach them from the other direction.

Just checked the weather. I *may* get to ride Sunday.

If all goes well, I'll be laying down a microscopic trail of rubber through the Black Forest ...

Passat 2.0T. We have a 1.8T now and really like it. It's had its share of electrical gremlins, but the warranty covered them nicely. It drives nice and gets good gas mileage (32-35 hwy). The 2.0 makes 200 hp (up 30).

Nice! Those are slick looking cars too. What year are you looking at? I'm guessing the newer ones, as they didn't offer the 2.0T until they redesigned them. I drove my grandma's Jetta a few times, it was only the 1.8 (non-turbo) but it was a great car to drive. Smooth as butter, I'm assuming the Passats are even nicer.

Well...not sure what the weekend will bring me.

Last night I picked up 15 6ft tall forsynthia bushes...and I'm guessing the wife would like them planted around the pool area as we have been planning.

But I've been looking at the bike...and the weather is getting better...and my new registration came...and I need to see just how soon I will need tires this season.....that I just don't see those bushes getting planted.

If the weather cooperates I'll be taking a two hour ride into the canyon's. Test out my camera mount, and get it working right. And try to get a couple more digital cameras working from a box of parts. Somewhere in there I should probably do homework. Oh and I'm getting my R/C truck running today. I have to re-tune it for the altitude though, it's going to be a PITA.

R/C Truck eh?

I got a truck, a jeep, 2 track vehicles, a couple of dune buggies, 2 snowmobiles, 2 atv's, a cigarette boat & a couple of planes and a helicopter.

But really...I'm not all that into R/C.

Yeah, the Traxxas T-Maxx 2.5, with the 2-speed tranny and 4 wheel drive kit. I've got parts for a track car, an old Tamiya but the pull start on the engine is busted. And an old Tamiya electric truck that still runs.

Are you from CA originally? Most people outside of CA don't use the word "hella" too often, that's why I'm asking.

Clint, skip the Passat and head down to Cambridge, a buddy of mine at work just picked up his new 08 DR 650 from Larsons for just under $5,000 out the door. You did say you wanted to get a dirt bike didn't you.

Screw you all. Today is the start of my work week. And while the snow is slowly melting, the gravel and potholes are still too risky to warrant riding.

On the other hand, I did just renew my registration. $416 for the year.
