my personal favorite of being stuck in traffic;

Driving the liquid cooled Honda Magna out of EAA (Oshkosh, WI, big aircraft event) and crawled for I don't know how long.

Watched the temperature needle go higher and higher until it was a hair away from overheat. Never did overheat though. Oh, the cooling fan kicked in for about 20 seconds.

I got stuck in an ice storm traffic jam west of Mississippi River @ Baton Rouge LA, {1981} spent the night right there in the road, along w/ hundreds of others.

be careful who you call old, it's still better than the alternative.

Gawwwd that reminded me of trying to leave Sun 'N' Fun in Lakeland, Florida. You're so right....that's "stuck" in traffic for sure (I miss going to that show though, it was a blast...even if you had to pack a lunch for when you tried to leave).

The salt trucks were jammed in traffic, it all happened in rush hour, no one moved. Several people left work at 4pm and didn't get home until midnight!
Unfortunately I listened to the weather man and the entire area exits and overpasses were iced up. No one could get off or on anywhere. The traffice report went like this, "Chances are if your are in the Washington area you are sitting still in total gridlock" no mention of roads, it was everywhere.

Had another forecast about a week later, I stayed home, all it did was rain?
That was a waste of a day's vacation for me, the forecast was off again!

Well, don't believe in forecasts! lol

I love it when a forecast of rain turns out to be wrong, but I had many cases the other way around. And it's those times that I hate getting stuck in traffic the most!

Once I was on my bike and got stuck in a deadlock on a highway. I had to go over to the side, get off my bike and do some stretches while everybody in line who had nothing better to do just watched me. That was really embarrassing but I couldn't help it!

Kay is demonstrating her exhibitionist side; although she left her helmet on with visor lowered. Tinted visor at that.

The people in traffic figured it was probably one of your crazy tv shows.

That's about all folks.
that sounds a whole lot like the freeways here in southern california... especially the 405 or the 10 in LA county.

i love the fact that it is legal to split lanes in CA... but keep in mind! it is only legal to split lanes at or below 35mph. your speed or traffics', it doesnt matter, lane splitting is allowed to 35 (and will make a hug difference in those 110+ degree days.

My home town, Redlands, CA. Spent a good deal of time in Big Bear. Me and my buddies took out dirt bikes up the hills on fire roads. Sure miss those days but you can have all the Calif. you want.

B-Rex, both of my brothers are flying down to Sun-N-Fun this April. They always type up a journal of their adventures flying down, what they did and the trip back.......I'd rather keep my butt on the ground.....April can be real bad flying weather-wise........

Yes, they both own their planes....

Amen to that! Especially in Florida. The fact that I was never a great pilot combined with the gossamer weight of my sportplane (about 400 lbs) meant that my april flights were pure James Bond....(violently) SHAKEN....not stirred!

Every time I started to wake up, some idiot came along and pressed the button for the basement. It took me HOURS to get out of bed that day!

Now that's a great excuse to wake up late!
I'll use that next time I want to sleep in.
