What can I say but ....HOLY S!@#$!!! I went to Cambridge yesterday and dropped some serious coin on the bike, filled out the paper work and have it tagged and insured. Ran into a slight snag...... Since I sold my Nighthawk last month, I wanted to transfer the tags, but when we tried, the VIN number on the old registration was already assigned to another Tag and I couldn't ?? Something like that, so I have to turn these tags in and I'll get $57.00 dollars back. so, I had to fork out another $120.00 for a new set of tags??? Okay no big deal, I had chain oil on the old ones anyway!!!!! I'm already approved for the loan, I'll pay them a visit this morning around 9am when they open and get my check I still owe on the bike......Jason at Cambridge Motorsports said for me to hold on to the check and give it to him when he drops my bike off today between 5 and 5:30!!!! He's trailoring it to my house.....free of charge. We walked in the back of the shop where my Black Beauty was sitting. All my "BLING" or accessories are installed. The new Vista Cruise control works perfectly and is a much nicer unit than I remember back in the 80's. I straddled the BEAST and turned the key to "ON"...heard some buzzing as the electronic fuel pump pressurized the system and tapped the starter button....then.,..........Blahhhhhhhhhblah....blah ....blah..blahh.....GAWD!! this sounds bad as hell!!! A quick "BLIP" of the throttle and VAAAARRRROOOOOM....blah.......blaaah.....blahhh... ...nice.....nice rumble indeed...... I turned on all my lights and lit up the shop area...I'm glad I got the Light bar installed.......I just might (probably will) swap out my lights for all H4-Halogen bulbs with a blue tint. From what I read the stock bulbs aren't the greatest.... I pushed another button and my headlight flashed....this is my passing flash headlight switch.....I pushed another button and all four of my turn signals lit up and I had 4-way flashers.....good to use when stopped at a stop light when some a-hole is creeping up on my rear. The rear floor boards are real nice and have a very nice finish......I didn't know they can't swivel in the up position because of my studded saddle bags are in the way....Oh well. I can live with that. I got off the bike and checked out my 50's classic chrome sun visors on all my turn signals......very cool and it matches my chrome sun visors on my two driving lighs on my light bar. I got home last night and read the manual from cover to cover....I was like that kid (A Christmas Story) in the bathroom with his secret decoder ring...but I was in the garage with a drink sitting in a lounge chair in the sun with a cheap cigar!...the wife keeps telling me to come in and clean up the kitchen.... .I need to break in the engine and my new tires.......They take 29 psi in the front and 36 psi in the rear regardless of loading...... The bike has a payload capacity of 456lbs........minus my lard ass of 215lbs leaves 241 lbs......The rear mono shock is pre-adjusted to number 4......a medium ride, I can turn it to number 1 for a soft smoother ride...but will experiment. It's highest setting is number 10 for a stiff ride......probably will never go there. The Honda had a stiff ride and jumped a few times going over bumps. The front break lever is also adjustable for people with a long hand or someone with a short hand. Right now I have it set to number 4.......so it won't grab immediately.....I'll have to play with this as well. I'm leaving again today at 3pm to make sure I'm at the house at 5pm.....Thursday's are always bad driving home?? Don't know why? Plus rain is in the forecast which will make it worse. I may sleep in the garage tonight cuddling up next to Black Beauty...stroking her shiny chrome pipes!!!! A good wax job is definitely in order....... Sunday’s forecast is bright, sunny and in the 60’s……..I’ll be on the road!!!! Didn't sleep much last night.... I'll take some pictures tonight, but I'll get better ones Sunday when I'm out riding in the warm sun!!!! dan

Dan, I am worried about you. You just don't seem excited about your new Bike!!!! ![]() Most would be pouring through magazines, parts suppliers, etc. Why/ Because there is a virus on this site called ZukiDudeitist, the need for Bling!! It will empty your bank account, max out your credit card. Then it leaves you with the constant demand for money, for gas, so you can ride the beast. Do you really think you can last till 5-530pm???

Well, I left work early yesterday so I could be home way before 5pm. My bike was being delivered between 5 and 5:30. It started to drizzle and Jason called and asked if I still wanted him to bring the bike up.......hell yes..... So, I paced and waited.....I already had some Ribeye's dressed in some balsamic vinegar just waiting for the grill......but I waited....Finally Donna and Chelsea got hungry so I put their steak on, grill was over 600º.....It only took a few minutes..... Then I thought,,,,crap....I'll put mine on too, by this time it's around 6:20pm.....As soon as I grabbed the steak with the tongs Chelsea came to the back door telling me my bike is here!!!! Dad!! Dad!!!....it's here!!!! stupid dogs barking...what? It's here!!!! Left the steak on the plate and hauled ass out front. Made sure the bone headed Lab was inside, he would have taken it off the plate sitting on the grill. Then I'd have to pour a bucket of water on him and turn up his shock collar to overdrive!!!! Figures....I should have grabbed the steak an hour ago....... I helped Jason untie the bike from the trailer and he and I walked it down the driveway, by this time it was raining steady. I already had the garage door open and we put it inside nice and safe and dry.... I gave him his check and started to dry off the bike....Took about an hour and two beers!! Here is the best picture that I could get inside the garage. It's much bigger than the Nighthawk. I fired it up a few times and listened to the exhaust....The throttle response is very different than the Honda's I owned.....It seem like it takes a while to rev up.....but that could be just the two cylinders and it's design....It's not suppose to rev like a crotch rocket anyway. I'm sure the torque is there when I will need it.. I was surprised to see how dry the inside the rear bags were from being towed in the rain. The bottom of the bags are a thick formed plastic inside, probably what keeps it's shape. I also thought I orderd 4 sun visors for my turn signals, I only have the two on the front and the two on the driving lights. But the driving lights came with them in the package. The bike has 2.4 miles on it. The second picture is a closeup of my Vista Cruise Control. I tested it to see how hard it would be to force it off with out the thumb flip lever and it's fine. In other words it doesn't clamp down hard like visegrips and can be overriden in an emergency ....just as I thought. The salesmans said he already waxed it, so all I can do now is wait until Sunday for my first ride, unless it dries up Saturday afternoon. It doesn't have a dip-stick to check the oil, it only has the site-glass.....kinda sucks, I have to hold the 600lb bike upright with my right hand on the throttle and break lever, balance it, and bend over to look at the little glass window??? stupid design.....the old fasion dip stick was much easier. I will have better pictures when it stops raining....maybe Sunday!!!!!!! Now....where did I put my Fonzy jacket???? Aaaaaaaeeeeyy!!!!! dan

| Congrats Dan!! I know you will have a blast. Just to let you know it you do plan on changing grips to ISO be warned that the Vista Cruise is not designed for it. You will have to do a lot of work and grunting to get it on correctly. Also I changed my mirrors to Kurykyan large oval convex. Very nice view and much more stable over time. Kinda a PITA to adjust but once there they stay!

Well guys the weekend is over and I clocked 60+ miles on her Saturday. I went for short rides to get use to the heel-toe shifter......and I like it...I like it a lot!!! It rained all day Sunday. Waxed it up real good with Mequires Gold Class and discovered, the black paint job has some blue flake as well. It's so minute, you have to look real close in the sun......?? Kind of useless if it's that faint? The bike handles great, I have no problem keeping it balanced at a walking pace!! Even at a very slow stop, then proceed thru intersection with both feet on the floor boards... The right side of my lightbar is loose.......like the bolt just needs a 1/4 more of a turn. I couldn't locate the bolt?? When I take it in for my break in service I'll have the dealer do it. He said the service fee (oil change, valve adj.) is $250.00.....and I already have that stashed away... I like the stock sound of the bike, a HUGE difference than the old 750 Honda.....I don't want it any louder.....I like it the way it is. Of all the motorcycles I have had (eight) I have never been more please or excited than with this one!! I feel safer, more confident on this bike. Maybe it's the weight, the balance, I don't know.....but my a$$ is ready to ride!!! It can get up to 70 mph very easily.....I varied my speed, but mostly kept it around 50 - 55.........It's very smooth, my handle bars are also very smooth....no vibration...... My wife bought me a bike cover, it has multi-layer and a fleece liner....This will keep the dust off of Black Beauty while it sits in my garage!!! What else can I say?? The best purchased I made..... I LIKE SMOKE -N- LIGHTING........HEAVY METAL THUNDER!!!!!!! BOOOOORN TO BE wiiiiiiiiiiiild!!!!!!!! It was said before........I'm grinnin from ear to ear.....just can't tell with a full face helmet!!!!!! dan

The plastic chrome like cover in the center of the light bar pops off. There is one screw on the bottom of the cover, remove. It is held on with a male plastic prong on each side. Just gentle pressure on each side pulling it towards you. The allen screws need to be tightened up and use some lock tight. Just don't let overconfidence bite you in the Butt!!! ![]() ps; when replacing the cover, it helps to have the wheel centered. Last edited by blackie1491; 04-07-2008 at 11:46 AM.

Okay thanks Blackie!!!! I removed that screw you are referring too.....and I thought the cover was held on by rubber grommets, and I gave it a little tug but was afraid I would break it. It's going to rain for awhile, maybe I'll give it another shot in my garage......use some blue loc-tite also....... thanks!!!! Don't worry, I'm not over confident....still cautious, but not as cautious when I had my Nighthawk and chicken grips...This bike is just plain comfortable....I enjoy riding it around 50 - 55 mph and enjoying the scenary..... dan

I found pulling on my left when facing the bike then my right it seemed to come off easier. I have bust a couple off on my Honda's side covers in the past. Just remember to center the wheel when putting the screw back. The bike is a pleasure to ride, so enjoy. Bob
