Ok.....MY BIKE IS IN!!!! The salesman sent me an email yesterday and asked when do I want to pick it up.......I believe he was just kidding....hell, I'm still scraping together more money.....I should be ready by next Saturday, if we agree on a price.

I've been riding nothing but Honda's all my life. This will be my first cruiser and my 8th motorcycle. My brother said these cruisers take a little getting use too. They don't handle like the old Honda's I've been riding.

I'll find out when I ride it home form the dealers, it's a straight shot home on Rt. 50.....

The only thing I DON'T have is cold riding gear. Just a 3 season leather jacket and gloves....

It won't be cold in a few days anyway. Right? So all you gotta do is think warm thoughts and ride!

I have another bright idea!!!!!

I was setting aside $300 bucks for my breakin service........Now, I'm thinking...Hmmmm? That light bar with the sun visors sure does look purdy!!!

I think I'll get it put on when I take it in for the break-in service, might as well get it the way I want, because afterwards I'm sure my wife will hold this over my head and have me as her slave! for the rest of my life...

Never mind she had a 3 week cruise last year to New Zealand and Austrialia, while I stayed home with the kids!!

cheeeez.....dan

Since this is in Virginia, I still need to pay MD. 6% taxes, of which = $469.00, brings the total price to $8295.00 in round numbers......

That's $405.00 less than the Dealer in Cambridge, he's 37 miles from my house, where as the Virginia dealer is 200 miles!!!

I'll send an E-Mail to Cambridge and see if he can either beat or match this price......

Might I give one piece of advice? Once you have all the quotes? Sit on them. Here's the deal--they want to sell you the bike! IF you get the quotes and then sit on them (do nothing--just wait) you may find that you get an email in day or two that says "DUDE! Turns out I can get you out the door for $7500!"

Basically they know they have you on the line and they'll (if they're worth a damn as a salesman) work to get you into the boat...

Good luck!

I agree with Crash. I looked at new bikes for two summers before I took the plunge. It's hard I know, you really want that new shiny (down Adam!!) bike but the day will come. The price on my bike was rock bottom and I could not pass it up.

shiny object adam is gone for a bit... In regards to buying a new bike... i passed on buying brand new cause i knew that it just wasn't worth it to me being that its my first bike. I think i was going through the local classifieds for probably 5 or 6 months before i took a look and went for it. Got exactly what i was looking for at a hell of a deal. You tell someone your going to write them a personal check for it and wow they get excited.

just exactly what model Hondas are being referred to, if you don't mind me asking.

My Honda's I've been driving were CB 100cc, CB 350 (had 2 of these), a Honda CB 500/4, a 750 Nighthawk, a CB 750-K and my last 750 Nighthawk....

I got a quote out the door for $8,500.00 this includes rear floor boards.

My wife is taking money out of the pool fund (i.e. to pay off the pool) and letting me have $400.00!!! Whooo hooo!!

I'm calling the dealer and having him install the OEM Lightbar, the Vista Cruise Control and I'm getting my four chrome turn signal sun visors!!!!

If all goes as planned, I should get it delivered this Saturday!!! He will trailer it to my house for free. I want to get use to the forward controls and the handling of the bike itself where I live, pretty much out in the country. I don't want to take a chance driving it home from the dealers on Rt. 50. It's has too much traffic of people heading to the beach.

My wife already picked up a new full-face helmet (HJC) for herself and wanted me to give her a $100 for a new riding jacket with armor.... I told her to hold off for about a week until we get the bike, then we can look at her jacket and intercom system.......and my new boots!!!

I'm saving enough money for the 600 mile break-in service too.......I have it all planned out.

dan

Wait until she finds out we have to shop at Victoria's Secret for her riding gear!!!! he heh e

Well there's something we have in common; I owned a cb 350 (a bit buzzy for my taste) a 1980 Honda cb 750 (c I believe) and the one sitting in the corner of the garage is an 1984 Honda magna vf700c.

Other than that, you are buying the bike that is the most popular. Around here anyway.

Default Today is the DAY!!!!!!

I'm already approved for my motorcycle loan, got all my paper work, my old tags and registration and all my "BLING" installed on the bike. Today I go down and get my purchase order and take it to the credit union for my loan check, then the bike is mine....it's mine I say!!!!

It should be in my garage this Friday or Saturday!!!!!!

Pictures will follow.....so stay tuned!!!!

Accessories include:
Rear floor boards
Light Bar
turn signals sun visors
Cruise Control

Now, all I need is a nice coat of Mequires Gold Class polish and I'll be set.

dan

Anybody in MN who owns a bike has my respect; everybody lives north of La Crosse, and that's about 60 miles North of me.

Also it's always a few degrees colder on any given day; the difference between "okay" and "just around the block."
