Default Signed up for my second track day

I'm doing the first-timer session again partly because it's been two years and partly because all the intermediate slots are full. I'm excited to ride a bike with clip-on bars this time. It makes getting proper body position so much easier.

Anyone wanna join me? Two slots left for June 8.

Riding Course!

Woulden't mind but looks like it is for sport bikes. I think I will just go to Sauk Rapids High and do my figure 8's.

Yeah, I think the least sporting bike there was an FJR last time. It's generally sportbikes, sporty standards (SV, Bandit), and supermotos. It probably wouldn't matter, but your poor cornering clearance would really slow you down.

Be sure to take extra tires.

I'm not set up to change tires on-site. It's a small course, and we run third gear, no brakes for the first-timer class, so it's not too bad on the rubber. Besides, living in Minnesota means the shoulders of my tread is nearly new anyway.

Ooooh yeah! Go get yourself some!

Can you get to Road A or Blackhawk with a reasonable drive? Do you guy's have any dedicated road racing tracks near you?

Track Days are evil. They suck you in and won't let go.

I mentioned Brainerd. AMA Superbike was here in '04. I doubt they'll be back. The crowd totalled a few hundred, I think. I'll go there when I can afford a dedicated bike and all the other crap you have to buy.

That's a cool looking track. You could run the B12. Just need some gear and leathers. You would do great.

That school looks cool too. Nice that they let you use textile. I'd do it if they had something like that out my way.

Yeah, it is a beast on corners. Not nearly as agile as my GS850 + the fact that I am still adjusting to its weight and size.

I'd really like to hear/see your feedback after the course. I've been looking at various advanced courses but haven't found precisely what I want yet.

I'm hoping to find one that emphasizes split-second maneuvers. I did one years ago with, multiple cones, xmas trees and time tickets. It was stressful as hell but I felt much better about swerves and hazard avoidance at speed. I would like to see how I perform now, older and on a peppier motorcycle.

I posted about my first time two years ago, if you care to try and find it. I'll tell you all about it on June 9.

The intermediate and advanced courses are just as described on the website - open sessions with coach input. You can pretty much make them what you want.
