Has anyone thought of, or does there already exist, a "trusted" member who maintains a contact database?

I'm very private online for obvious reasons so I understand the need for anonymity....and it's even more important for a woman...but, at the same time, I would be OK with leaving contact info where it would be guaranteed to be private. If such a database was established, it could help relieve the angst of other members as well provide a means to get assistance to a member who needs it. Obviously, it would have to be carefully maintained with extremely limited access.

Just a thought for the future. Maybe it's not practical here, I don't know.

We've done that on some other forums, kept phone numbers and such. Some participated, some did not. The active members did tho.

The "other" forum where I'm a moderator has a phone list that is available to everyone who has also submitted their name and number. But that forum is a "local" forum, limited to the German speaking part of Switzerland, so we're all within a few hours of one another.

Default So Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry I disappeared!!!! (Not that I wanted to)
To put a very long story short......my PC broke (had to send it off to have it repaired and they had to exchange my HDD!), my dad was suddenly hospitalized for a heart surgeory (at one point, I thought I was going to lose him so soon after I just lost my mom!), and the workload....and a lot more....all falling on me at the same time.

Thankfully, dad is still in the hospital, but on the way to recovery. At least, I don't think I will lose him, so that, at least is good news.

The workload is still still here but getting better and I am finally starting to see the end of it.

And my PC is back!

I just have tons of catching up to do to get my life back to normal.

But I jumped in just to tell all of you guys, that I am OK (at least, now) and am alive. lol
I'll try to get my PC sorted sorted out today and hopefully catch up by the end of the weekend.

Anyway, hope to get back very soon!

THANK YOU ALL AND SO SORRY ABOUT ALL THE WORRIES!

Btw, I won't just disappear like that...... I didn't think things will take this long myself.

Hi Kay,

I don't know you but welcome back anyway. Lotsa folks missed you on here and I'm sure they will be relieved to see you back.

Sorry to hear that your dad is sick, but glad for you that he's getting better.

Oh yeah, computers can really suck when they "disappear" you. Been there, done that!

Glad you are back Kay!!! You have become an important and respected individual in our little group and your absence was very noticed.

Sorry but I made some stupid assumptions concerning your absence, guess I am new enough and I don't know you all that well. Forgiven?

I hope your father has a complete and speedy recovery!!

Again, soooo glad you are back!!

I'm glad you're alright Kay - you had a lot of us quite worried.

I'm sure we wouldn't have all flown over, but Scotty sure would have done!

Your absence here was missed, I'm relieved the news wasn't worse. Give our best wishes to your Dad that he gets better soon.
