With just an exhaust you should be ok, but you will never know unless you take it to a dyno, or know how to read the plugs. With my exhaust and the open top K&N air filter I NEED the power commander or the bike will run EXTREMELY lean.

I totally agree. I don't know much about your bike but, from my experience, once you really open up the intake AND decrease back pressure, a PC becomes a virtual necessity to maintain proper fueling.

I don't know how much of that I'd do to a gixxer 1k unless I was bent on racing it though. I'd like the increased grunt but might be a bit leary of the other changes in the power band. As you said, just a can change should be fine by itself.

Changed to clip-ons. Swapped dual headlights to vertical dual projectors. Added grip heaters and handguards.
