Mine is a convert. Hated bikes. Rode on the back of mine. Decided she wanted one.

My wife doesn't hate bikes either. She's the one that told me I should have bought a NEW M50 instead of my 750 Nighthawk.......Now, I'm selling the Nighthawk and getting a 2008 C50T.....

Guns? Heck I gave her a 22 semi auto and she was better with that than I was......We shoot guns ride bikes......BBQ, smoke pulled pork, brisket and make jerky.....

My C50T will be my 9th motorcycle and she's the perfect passenger, don't even know she's back there!! Besides, I like resting my hand on her bare-skin leg while we ride!!! Smooooooth!!!!

My wife and I discussed getting a scooter a few years ago. Before we bought anything we both took the motorcycle safety class. After we took the class we bought a Yamaha 125 scooter. My wife LOVES the scooter. She uses it to go around town and to the library. She used the scooter more than I did. I bought a Honda VLX 600 last spring from a friend at work. I put over 5,000 miles on the Honda last year. Looking for a bigger bike I bought my M50 last fall. I was hoping that my wife would want the Honda, but she still likes the scooter.

My (soon to be) wife doesn't "hate" my bike, but she won't ride with me and has no desire to ride herself.

She owned an enduro bike about 25 years ago, but after burying several friends, she sold the bike and hasn't been on one since.

Until recently I had not owned a car or truck for several years, so every woman I met, I met while on my motorcycle. Great way to filter out the haters LOL!

For what it's worth, my GF is an Aussie who had never been on a bike and thought that ordinary Americans had daily shoot-outs at McDonalds. But then she came here.

To address the bike issue, I took her to a very nice motorcycle accessories store and asked her to look around for bike clothing that would appeal to her. Well, a nice and tight armored leather jacket, a "chick" decorated helmet and a pair of fashionable boots later...and she decided that now that she had the stuff, she had to wear it. Where else but on my motorcycle? So, a little strategic clothing shopping and she was on the back of my bike within a week.

The gun issue resolved on its own. After she realized that both Americans and non-Americans are fed a steady diet of anti-gun propaganda....and a few months of watching Fox news....she realized that 99.99% of gun violence comes from wack jobs, gangstas and other criminals, she figured out on her own that legally-owned guns don't kill innocent people. She also figured out that making guns illegal would have no effect on those who don't follow the law, i.e., wack jobs, gangstas and other criminals...just like in Australia.

It's nice to have a smart GF (who looks good in leather). Too bad the anti-gunnies can't be made smart.

I'm going to tilt the scales even more against you. MrsB won't ride on the back of my bike because she figures it's too much of a risk of leaving our child an orphan, but she'd have no objection to riding her own if it was sufficiently cute -- say a 125 Vespa or something.

My Girlfriend and Mom both aren't huge fans of it - but are glad I dropped my rocket for the cruiser. I'm okay with it, as we all know that riding solo is way more fun anyways!

My wife had trail bikes from about 9 years old til she got her driver's license.....She still thinks I'm going to kill myself on my cruiser. She's often glad I carry a gun, but doesn't like to shoot them herself. "Too loud".

My current wife was making alot of anti-bike statements when we first met. I invited her to a motorcycle race one weekend. She didn't now I rode and thought we'd be sitting in the stands.

Although she was a little confused when we went through the pit gate, she was totally shocked when I pulled the helmet and leathers out of the trunk. I was lucky enough that I won that night and turned a potential hater into a current rider.

For the most part hate is fostered by ignorance.

I know it might sound bad, but I am almost cheering when I get a Hater vote... Just cause I am one of the only ones that have voted having a hater so far and had a hater in my past! (pondering....... does this make me a hater supporter?????)

Well, I am one of the few. My wife will not even think about getting on a bike period. I have been riding since I was 9 yo. So a couple of years after we got married I got rid of my bike to help out with the bills, with the understanding that when possibile I could get another bike. After about 4 or 5 times when we had the money to get one, and three times as many "disagreements", I finally told her I was getting a bike. At first we just would not talk about it, then she finally came to terms with it, but she still won't ride.

When I got my first bike my wife would follow me in the car. That lasted about 3 weeks. She caught the bug and got her own bike. Now we ride together.

My wife was dead set against my getting a bike. I finally bought one anyway, in spite of her opposition. Three years later, she sort of understands what it means to me and accepts it, but she still won't ride with me.

My wife was not a big fan at first. Mostly my fault I was riding around with other Ladies on the back(wasn't married yet). But after a couple of weeks in the dog house and taking here out for rides she loves it but now she wants me to get a cruiser.

Not my wife she has all her own safety gear that she wears when we go ride.
