Well in a intimate ceremony at the Modcave this morning we swore in themeatmanlandry as our newest moderator.

Here's a brief summary of the ceremony.

Do you meatman promise to love, honor and obey ? Oops wrong quote !

It was more like, hey meatman you're now a f*ing Moderator !

Seriously though, Mark as been on board a while now and I think he'll be a great addition to the Admin team.

Note to the members, Mark will not be the only new Mod on board. Suzukigirl1 will be offered the same position when she get's back on site.

Well, its nice to know we will be moderated by our favorite meat man. Yes, the man with the meat. The man who's not afraid to answer the question: "Why? Why did you name yourself the meat man?" The man who's not afraid to fess up and answer, "I didn't, she did..." I know we all can attest that with his "meaty" guidance, we will all become better at posting and possibly one day become more skilled at riding. Let me be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS Mark "themeatman" Landry. If you should ever fall...we will all be there to support "The Meat" aka Mark.

Congrats

[Elvis voice]Thankya',thankyaverymuch[/Elvis voice]

I'll still be the same poster I've always been, just now I'll be watching for trouble makers. We're all friends here and we all know and follow the rules, so I really don't see anything changing, other than the fact that I'll be reading every post I can.

themeatman has nothing to do with actual meat (I wish). It was a nickname my buddy used to call me when we were working out all of the time. My triceps are slightly developed and he said they looked like steaks, so he started calling my office "The Butcher Shoppe" (because of all the meat hanging). That lead to themeatman, etc., etc.

I am not a big guy, so don't think themeatman is some monstrosity. I'm 5'6" and I weigh 170 pounds, give or take. When I signed onto another site (my first forum) all of the combinations of "Landry" were taken, so I went with themeatmanlandry.

In retrospect, I think it appears to be a pompous-sounding schlong reference, but if I change people will think they're talking to someone else, so . . . you know . . . I just keep it. It sticks out, if nothing else!

Many congrats...from one Memphian to another. Although I am in Maine now, I spent the first 38 years of my life in Memphis or the surrounding communities.

Yeah, yeah, we didn't ask all that...

Congratulations Mark!

(SuzukiGirl1 is still my favorite, though...)

I have my first forum debate and the next day the guy becomes a moderator. I'll just go back to lurking. Congratulations.

Don't leave on account of me. I like you, dude. In fact, now I'm going to have to do a search and figure out what we debated about! I can't even remember.

[EDIT: The everest climbing gear vs. motorcycle helmet thing? You're kidding me right? (I didn't see a smiley). I apologize if I offended you. Seriously. Now stop lurking (please?).]
