i'd ride but...... my bike hates cold the way it is and it wouldn't like me running it in snow like we have now. I feel safer in my CRV than i would on my cycle

I rode my first 20 miles in over a month
Felt great, but the weather here is pretty much cold and wet this time of year.
The windshields on my in-law's cars froze in the 2 hours that they were here last night to watch a movie.

I rode my 250 a bit yesterday in our long dirt alley. I'm not being a wus just playing it smart + don't wanna get my baby covered in salt and sand. Getting the 90 ready for paint in the next couple of weeks.

Rode twice over the break (once for each bike). Put about 80-100 miles on each ride. Temps were in the mid-50's.

Not only is it too cold...there's more salt & sand on the road then ever this year.

I'll be waiting for the street cleaners or a whole bunch of rain before I try to ride.

Back when I didn't know any better. Wumsutter Wyo. 1982.
I had to drag my feet on the off ramp the night before to get off the freeway.
Got a ticket for speed ing about a half hour after this picture was taken, it was snowing/or blow snow. I told the HP that I had to go a little faster to keep the snow from hitting me in the face. He didn't buy it. The national speed limit was 55 mph back then and he gave me a break, wrote me for only 10 over, that way he didn't have to take to jail. Nice guy huh?

My bike is the one in the rear, I moteled it that night and the next morning there was this little Guzzi setting next to Mother Goose, thought she had ah baby? He was heading for Reno NV and I was on my way to Texas.

I rode about 40 miles Saturday afternoon. For some reason, I just felt too cold to have a good time. I stopped in and chatted with a buddy for 15 minutes or so, then I went home and took a nap!

I'll post here now, so I can get back when I actually get around to riding.

Depending on the weather, next week or next month. Who knows.

My definition is determined by how long since I've driven.

Being January, and the last month driving was couple of months ago, my definition of cold is about 40. Not driving all that far, not getting dressed like I'm going snowmobiling either.

I'm curious what the TX standard of cold is; since anytime it gets much below 55, wait, it'll get warmer.

If you want to know what the standard is in my part of Texas is, pick any temp, fill the bathtub up with water, jump in, then go for a ride....

That's my standard. I'm two blocks from the water and my whole trip commuting I'm never more than about 10 miles from the water so HUMIDITY does play a factor...

Last time I rode in it was 40° w/ a dewpoint of 40° or 100% HUMIDITY for 65miles, nonstop riding at 80mph...but as long as I can feel my hands I'm comfortable (Gerbing's gloves )...

I will ride about 180 miles this week with temperatures rangeing from 28 low to 55 high. It sure helps to ride with the right gear.
