| During the colder months, not riding every week. What is the best way to park the MC in the garage on concrete? Does the weight of the MC and concrete have any effect on the tires? A) Park it and don't worry about the tires? B) Put MC on Jack ( if possible )? C) Park it on carpet for the tires My son rides less than me ( he rides 600 Katanna ) I ride a Roadstar Thanks |

| Top Gear ! Full Throttle! ![]() | You might think about putting it up on stands or a pallet or a lift or something so the tires dont get a flat spot. But what do I know, I only work on computers for a living.

| I put my tires on scraps of plywood or cardboard. Concrete can draw oil out of your tires (though I suppose wood could, too), and it's somewhat alkaline. I just prefer something softer, I guess. I've never seen a motorcycle tire get a flat spot. My Mustang used to, but only with certain brands of tires. Depends on the compound.

If properly inflated, tires will not flat-spot in just a few months. Once a month, I kick the tires, move the bike 6 inches and connect the trickle charger for 12-24 hours. Tires and batteries both last a long time. I wouldn't do (B) because of an increased risk of damage. (C) might prevent leaving a tire mark on the garage floor (I've had that happen a couple of times).

| Last winter i put mine up on a motorcycle jack for the whole season. I'm not sure if i'll do that again this year because i need new tires anyway. I know a lot of people that dont do anything and have never had any problems YET. My cousin just parks his like he just got off of it for the day, and leaves it in a shed with a dirt floor, no cover, no stabil, no nuthin, he says he has never had a problem with his 01 marauder.

| Last year I bought a jack and left on the jack with tie down straps. It takes less room. But it was up and down since the weather was so good during the winter. But this year the big bike up on jack and the M50 will be on the ground so I can ride when the weather is above 32.

| I leave mine on a lift, because it takes up less room, and is easier to move around in the garage.

| I leave mine on the floor and I never had any trouble with the tires. This year I bought a motorcycle jack for it and l had the motorcycle up a couple of inches off the floor. I was moving it back to get more room and I was not careful, the bike fell off the jack. It is expensive to replace damage parts. Carl |

That's why they make tie down straps and the jack has hopes for that reason. Any way Carl

| When I had the GSXR I used to put it up on the race stands for the winter (I could climb on and make the wruuum wruuum sound when bored). My Motard runs much lower air pressures and I don't much worry about it...though it finds it's way onto the stand for winter maintenance and stays there for long periods of time....

| lol.. wonder how Santa stores the slay..hehe being here in the south the only thing I see as far as tire damage goes is dry rot which I am not totally sure what cause this. It would seem though you guys up there would also deal with this problem also in the months of not riding. |

| Throttle Jockey ![]() | I built a throne for mine (more or less) and she sits up on this, above the cement floor of the garage. It's built from plywood. I can't say I've ever worried about flat spotting. With all the global warming, I'll be riding straight through to Christmas. |
