I wouldn't use a Bell helmet to poop in, let alone put it on my head.

(But poopin' in it, and puttin' it on someone else's head...heh..heh..that's a whole 'nother ball game!! )

Thanks. I thought it was an easy opportunity. You have more than one company to choose from, Tim.

On a serious note.....

What do you ride with?

I stepped up to a Shoei RF1000, and it hasn't been a very good relationship so far.

Arai Signet GTR, circa 2004. It's been great once I learned not to use cleaners on the plastic bits. Thanks to Arai Americas for several free fixes.

My head's already so dinged up (and void) that I just use whatever's cheapest. It's like buying a car cover for a rusted-out jalopy.

Quiet?

I get a low resonance intrusion (booming) at highway speeds. Around town, it's so light I hardly notice the helmet there. But, being light, I hear a lot more. I dig the upgraded features (working vents, nice shield mechanism, breath guard) over an HJC, but it's not a fun helmet at highway speeds.

I've never owned a helmet I consider quiet on the interstate. I wear earplugs anyway.

Agreed. I'm not expecting Lexus like sound exclusion.

However, my HJC cuts the sound down. Waaaaaaay down.

I expected more from the Shoei I guess.

I wish there were test days for helmets. I suspect any helmet is different on different bikes with riders of different sizes. There's no way to know what will work for you until you try it.

That'd make for a great article in Sport Rider. You should email Andrew Trevitt.
