Default Lucas electronics in Suzuki C50's!!!!

It just pisses me off that the Prince of Darkness is still alive and kicking in Suzuki. I have had an issue with the front brake light switch over the last 6 months. I have even replaced it and found out that for the 05's the had a change in the part number. To no avail. Any time I wash the bike or ride in the rain like tonight. 58 deg and pouring. and now I have no brake light. I followed DrBob's advise as he had the same problem years ago. Spray it with WD 40 and it helped very little. Have any of you guys had that probem? OR do you even look and check your brake lights? To solve the probelm just unplug the harness from the switch and replug when it drys out. Don't ever bother to plug it in if it even looks like rain.... I hae checked it out with a meter and everything. Bum switch!!

Sorry I just had to vent...feel much better now.

We used some spray on boat wiring called boat sheild that we sprayed all the open termials. Worked great. Try West Marine.

Put a different switch altogether.

Maybe something like this:

HEL Banjo Brake Light Switch @ moto-racing.co.uk

There are others like it..

They sell grease at auto part stores that you can put in a electrical connector. Do that then cover it with heat shrink. That should solve you problem.
