Default what should i do?

I am still quite the newbie to street motorcycling about 1 year. I did take my MSF course. I choose a c50 as my first ride. While I really enjoy it, I really want to get more into sports touring. But I am not ready to handle the concourse 14 or the FJR I hope to own someday. Here are my options

1. Keep the c50 for a couple more seasons then trade up to the bigger bike.
2. Buy a Suzuki Strom 650 as a stepping stone bike.
3. Buy the FJR or concourse and most likely hurt myself.

I am leaning towards option 2 just so I get my leg over a sport touring bike and hopefully cure this itch for a bit. But option 1 my be cheaper, can I learn what I need to know on the c50 to prepare me for the bigger guy??

Any comment welcome
thanks

Dan
