The province of Ontario, in an effort to curb street racing, just passed a new law last week which gives the police the power to impound your vehicle for one week if you are caught exceeding the speed limit by 50 km/h ( ~ 30mph ). TorontoSun.com - Toronto And GTA - Impact begins to be felt Short version of story: 23 year old gets nabbed on a brand new 2008 R1 ( not his, no mention if it's stolen or no though ) hitting speeds up to 210 km/h ( speed limit on highway is 100 km/h ) and then crashes the bike while trying to elude police. Ontario also has a graduated licencing system and the rider only had a beginner's permit so he was not allowed to be on the highway in the first place. |
