Default An impromtu ride!

Yesterday I found myself alone and on my M50, it was before 11am and the sun was shining. I donned my FF helmet and decided to make a day of it. I followed a scenic route not too far from my place and headed up north and back. All in all a short trip, only 350km. I only had my cell phone (1.3MP), here are the pics!

Lucky devil. I'd have my camera along for sure if I lived there.

Wonderful city. I went there with my father and brother after high school for fishing/sightseeing. Even them we remarked on how tranquil a city that size could be. Getting out from there to such beauty must be even better. But, the most important question remains unaddressed: What were your meals like? Country diner? Hidden Inn w' fresh vegetables and rabbit? Or, tin-foiled hot dog in the pocket? Thanks for sharing this.

OK, replies to questions and posts above:

1) Could have kicked myself for not bringing the camera, but hey I was more focused on the voyage.

2) I didn't go directly into the Tremblant village site since it is more of a tourist thing and does not interest me. The trip to the surrouding area is very nice though.

3) The meal was a pit stop meal. I had a cheese dog and a Pepsi for lunch. I almost had poutine, but I didn't need any lead in my stomach with another 175ish km to ride.

4) Trois-Rivières is about 1.5 hours and 150km from my house which puts this trip about 200-300km from Trois-Rivières.

5) Tim.... you got me !

love going up to tremblant... was just there on sunday... nice twisty roads everywhere

i like the dogs at the little shack by the mini put in st-jovite... i always go there... it's like a checkpoint for me whenever i go in the area

quebec has some nice roads... too bad most of them are chewed up by potholes and tar snakes

you've never been? i think you be missing something

Google Maps
you can also take the 315 321 or 323 north. once in namur, it gets more interesting... a lot of twistys after the turn in lac-des-plages.

once you get to mont-tremblant (st-jovite) you can go north to the mon-tremblant walking village or go mont-tremblant town itself... very nice area

so many nice roads in quebec... (albeit bumpy and potholed)

yeow, i'm missing a lot apparently! for some dumb ass reason, i thought tremblant was south and east from montreal, like kinda towards sherbrooke.

hmm, looks like it could be a cool ride! i've done two rides up to Val des Bois not long ago. hmm, the 366 / 307 to Bois is a nice route. have you ever taken the 309 up to Mont Laurier? looks like that could also be a nice ride to Tremblant, along that longer northern loop.

Awesome place! Hope to visit there one day! Got some great sites that I'd surely enjoy while riding...

Looks like it was a very nice ride! Great pictures. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise--even if they were taken with a phone!

i've been up the 309 but not as far as that. i stopped at notre-dame-du-laus and took the chemin de-val-ombreuse south.
(stupid hyphenated names)

from what i remember, the 117 between tremblant and mont-laurier is a pretty good highway... (only did a short bit)

i think i'm running out of roads and i'll have to stretch out the distance from home base... the 366/307 is pretty nice...

AH HA !!! Our token BC'er finally chimes in with his jealousy of Québec Poutine, and that is with a CAPITAL P to indicate its cheesy, saucy goodness, and his jealousy of our trips! All you have are you Rockies, clement weather, no snow, Whistler, nice roads and other stuff! Wait a minute...
