Default Drunk Cager...coulda been worse

Yesterday on our 5 states in 1 day ride, we just left Texas. Our group is riding at the posted speed limit of 70 mph in the right hand lane. This stupid drunk b**ch in the left lane passing us at about 5 mph faster than we're going, veered off into the median, overcorrected, lost control, came within inches of hitting my buddy Jason in the ass end (I was riding in front of jason) but she missed him thankfully.

The guy riding behind Jason saw the truck slide sideways in front of him & nailed the brakes. When he hit the truck, he was only doing about 5 mph thankfully. He got a gash in his right shin from the bumper of the truck. He's very lucky. We had 13 bikes in formation, she coulda taken out alot more riders. Considering what could've happened, it turned out pretty good.

I've always hated drunk drivers & I still hate 'em.

Stupid b**ch was crying when she got arrested...............what a shame. I hear New Mexico has some pretty tough DUI laws.............I hope so.

I have zero sympathy for drunk drivers

I think it's funny that you posted her picture!

I have no tolerance for a drunk behind the wheel of a car. Glad no one was hurt more seriously.

Is the injured guy or anyone else going to file charges?

Wow, I'm really glad that didn't turn out worse. It is amazing she didn't kill someone in your group. Sounds like good reactions by all the riders minimized the damage. I hope they lock her up for a while.

That could have been tragic, for all involved. After all these years of "dont drink and drive" indoctrination, Its all over the media, in one way or another, people are still that dumb.

WOW. Glad every one made it out okay. New Mexico has very tough DUI laws. It is also very hard on repeat offenders.

I have 0 tolerance for drunk drivers as well.. if they kill soemone.. give them the chair. If they hurt someone - lock them up for 20+ years. Teach them a thing or 2.

You were all lucky!

Glad they got her. I think it's a riot that you posted her pic while she is in cuffs.

Here by me an off duty police officer was riding his GSXR-1000 and got hit by a drunk driver.

He survived the initial impact, but then the drunk ran him over, and then he died from that.

A group of motorists who just happened to be there, actually lifted the corner of the car off the cop, to get him out from under it. Then they tackled and held the fleeing drunk until police arrived.

And "oh what a shocker": the drunk was on a suspended license, and has had previous drunk driving beefs.

It's always a shyt story, except for the drunks....

When I was living in NM, I didn't think the DUI laws were all that tough. May be they've changed.

No worries guys.. Our liberal laws here will give her a fine, slap on the wrist, Maybe sent to a DUI class, and told not to do it again.. Bless her heart she was crying!! thats reason enough to let her go.. right?? our laws are a joke!

Thanks for the comments folks.

He was at work yesterday, limping a little but good otherwise. He's hoping his bike will be repaired before the good riding season is over here.........he's in good spirits.

I had to post her with the cuffs on. The Sheriff is holding her up, not keeping her from running away.

It looks like he has no choice but to turn it in to his ins company & pay his deductable. I guess that truck & her liquor collection are the only things she has. Turns out, her ins expired.........imagine that! Also, this is her 3rd strike so hopefully she's OUT, but she'll probably get a slap on the wrist, a small fine, & be able to get back into her truck & maybe kill a family or a motorcyclist or a pedestrian next time.

Maybe we should change our 5 in 1 route next year?

I'm guessing that those skid marks are from a previous accident?

I am glad your friend is ok.. tell him his other motorcycle family out there on net wishes him well. Yeah this woman should be reduced to public transportation for the rest of her life. Its just like that girl who was drunk and racing down the highway, side swipes and kills two people from a royal family here visiting the states.. she gets two years?? wtf?! so we can say that a human life taken out by a drunk driver is only worth a year in prison.. way to clean up the streets America...
