About a month ago, a friend of a friend driving from St. Cloud, MN to Brainerd, MN, hit a deer at 70 mph with zero gear . After a few days they pulled the plug. The doctor said if he was wearing a helmet he would probably have been a quad. His wife found him a few minutes after the accident. RIP Brian, age 37.

Oh it would be horrible to actually be on the scene.

I'll bet you wouldn't find Ross ( Nut ) racing on the street.

I get upset at irresponsible drivers/riders but not as worried about them per say.......as I am about the people they affect around them..ie...family/friends/riders/drivers/pedestrians.

My father seems to find all the crazy riders whenever he is out on his harley. Now a 75 harley will hardly keep up with all the new technology but when he finally does find them there are usually two or three cops (called in by him on his cell phone) in tow.

We live in a small town and while my father knows all the cops by name he doesn't give out any track info... that's a good idea guys. Never thought of that before.

Maybe your dad should stop telling on people? That's my suggestion.. i thought tattle-taleing(sp) stopped in the 3rd grade.

"Tattling"?

C'mon man . . . if someone robs a bank and I seem them, I'm tattling. Same thing with a potential drunk driver, or a guy beating up a chick on the sidewalk, or a person potentially abducting a child. Witness testimony is a valuable part of police work and judicial proceedings. If we all clam up just so we won't be called "tattlers" more and more people will get away with committing crimes.

... committing crimes such as stealing, robbing a bank etc etc.. are FAR different then what his dad may consider "crazy riders"

But a "crazy rider" can kill you just as easy as a drunk driver, if not more so. Plus if the cop doesn't see the craziness, he/she really can't do anything (within legal bounds . . . I suppose they could make some stuff up).

yeah, but this guy calling the police could be making stuff up.. he could be like "i dont liek sportbikes, this guy in front of me has one, he's driving 5 mph over the speed limit! what a crazy driver!" then calls the police and is like "This guy in front of me is doign t least 110 and hes wheeling and shooting his gun off in the air"

He won't call the cops with a BS story like that more than once (at least not around here). If they stop the guy and he has no gun, the person filing the false report gets in a WORLD of hurt.

Everyone has a different set of standards for stuff like that. Luckily, the law is well defined.
