Default Gut cut check-in

[drill sergeant]YOU PEOPLE SUCK! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF FLABBY BUTTERBALLS! YOU HAVEN'T LOST THE EQUIVALENT OF A BIG TURD BETWEEN YOU, AND SOME OF YOU ARE FATTER THAN WHEN YOU STARTED![/drill sergeant]

So, how's it going? I see some meters rusted in place at zero pounds lost.

<snaps to attention> Sir, yes, sir!!!

Wait.....stop that.

Well, I haven't been able to get to a scale while here at wonderful Fort Pickett, VA. I think I will chance a run to the gym and see if they have one there. I will check it and post my weight promptly.

So what's the prize in this here contest?

I could loose 300 lbs, just switching from the HD, to the Strom.

I missed the official 'gut buster' contest, but noticed the meters...

I have dropped from 265 down to 249...I'm aiming for 220...

Not really a competition, but more of a group weight loss program.

Strength in numbers and all that....

I missed out on this whole thread, but did see the scales. I dont think I have even found the original thread but was still interested.
My deal: I have been off my thyroid medicine for about 6 years - now have a goiter... Stopped smoking a few months ago, now gained a few more pounds.
I am currently back on thyroid (as of my birthday, 08/17/07) - for the rest of my life, it seems! I have cut almost all simple starches out, am eating better than ever in my life.
I dont want my second 50 years to be as chubby as most of the first were!

You know many people who crash because they lock up the wheels on their car? Or because they haven't spent 18 hours rehearsing emergency braking every spring and so can't push it to the limit?

Nah, me neither.

Of all the ignorant stuff you've spewed over the last few days, this is the worst. Please stop posting unsubstantiated opinion. You're going to get someone hurt.

Agreed. Since when is a little extra safety margin a bad thing? How much can an ABS system weigh?

Maybe it was a joke?

Well on the Bandit 1250 ABS versus the Non-ABS you are looking at a whopping 9 pounds more for the ABS.

So I could see where the extra 9 pounds will cause serious handling problems,,,.

Well I think the ABS is a good thing. Nothing worse than a wheel lockup on a bike,, well there are but nevermind. But anyways good braking technique is a plus and ABS does help out with newer riders but the ABS will also help out with the experienced riders who may know how to brake correctly but in a panic situation may lock em up anyways.

I have been looking at the GoldWings and the one in particular I have been drooling over is the Comfort package with Navigation and ABS. Don't want the Airbag model. I'm willing to sacrifice the extra 8-12 pounds for a ABS system.
