Oh no you're not! You WOULD pass me like a rocket! I've only been riding for a month, and don't have time, money, or kahonas enough to take my bike to a track here in Texas... I have no problem getting outshined by a girl. Especially one who knows how to ride!

Mark,

You're killing me dude!

Janis,

Don't worry, all is good. Your post seemed to insinuate that you were disappointed that no MALES commented on the pics. I was just stating my opinion on the subject. It was not directed at you personally. I try to post where I can be helpful. Take my dishwasher post for example. Pure NUT.

Quote:
I had to stand on the pegs not sitting (i'm a few inches above the seat if you look at it) to assume that position. Do you agree?
Depends on the track surface. Standing on the pegs can waste a lot of energy if there is no purpose for standing on them (i.e. getting ready for a transition or pushing yourself up on the bike exiting a corner).

Quote:
I agree with all of your comments, even though I must tell you that that pic was taken BEFORE the center of the turn (noticed you can't see the curb -or whatever it is called -yet?), so before I could get to bend the bike at the maximum extent and maybe be in the right position with the body.
Right. That is what I alluded to before. I haven't ridden there, so it is harder for me to comment on where you should be, or how you should be positioned at that exact point on the track.

Quote:
I would have expected an objection on the position of my right elbow...it should be more open, it that right?
Not necessarily. Keeping your elbows down and in means that you are RELAXING on the bike. Sure, you could hang it out a bit more. I do sometimes. It really is rider preference at your level. Going to a race school might shed some more light on what you can do to improve.

Quote:
The ones I can't understand are the ones who ride like mads on the roads, also because when they move in the tracks they usually appear to be very slow (passed many of those I couldn't catch on the road).
Exactly. We call them squids. I usually blow them away on the street if I want to. I usually don't care, and don't bother. Anyone can wring the throttle. Most can't slide a bike through a turn at 90 MPH+. Track days are great for showing some of these guys how weak their skills really are.

Of course, I am always learning. I have a lot more to learn. Everyday at the track is a chance to improve. Always seek help from someone else at every track day.

I'm a male (I think. Let me check . . . yep!), and I'll comment on your photos. From the male perspective, of course.

JanMug1.jpg - Can't see your ass . . . nice bike, though.
JanisAvatar3.jpg - Still can't see your ass.
JanMug17.jpg - Hey . . . I can kinda see yer ass!

[EDIT: Feel free to wail on me . . . here's link to my ugly mug (no ass shots). http://www.suzuki-bikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3783]

Well, maybe Italians are too die-hard/reactionary/retrograde, but they just get crazy if a woman passes them. Of course they would never admit it if asked, but I've learned to understand them (I understand Italians so well that I've never dared to marry one!).

I suspected that, but my sentence meant that it is quite a hard job to be teased and can't reply in your language!

ciao, Janis

p.s. we don't have a world/phrase for "french kiss".

Uh . . . well . . . they might not want to race w/the AFM then. We have some female racers out here that are flat out flyin'.
