Default Wookie in Denver

The wookster is in Denver this week on a business trip meeting up with the big cheeses of his company.

Is there no helmet law in Colorado ? Of all the riders I've seen today since I got off the airplane, 1/2 of them are not wearing helmets.

I will be in Denver until Friday. On Thursday, my boss said he will lend me his FJR1300 and we're going into the Rocky Mountains after work. Cool !!!

Yes, I brought my riding gears with me. Don't leave home with them.

Colorado has no helmet law. It's our version of birth control. You'll love the ride in the mountains. There isn't a road out there that isn't fun. Enjoy!

How nice!!! Have fun but ride safely!
But...you actually carried your bike gear on a business trip?
And did you bring your leather suit????

I envy you for the ride and for having such a great boss.
You really can't ask for more, can you?

Well, he's a pretty cool guy. I actually wasn't sure about riding in Colorado but he told me about the beautiful routes so I figured what the hell.

Yep, I brought my helmet, riding boots and gloves, knee paddings and textile jacket and reinforced jeans. I didn't bring leathers because they won't fit into the small suitcase I carried.

I rode the boss's FJR1300 today. Man, that thing is smooth.

I just rode it from our Denver office back to my hotel and then to a business dinner in Boulder. It's very comfortable. The really cool thing is the electrically actuated windscreen. That actually helps a lot when going on the freeway.

I was surprised how well it can turn in tight spaces. The riding posture almost reminded me of my first bike, a cruiser.

Tomorrow after work, I will try to ride it into the mountains to get a better feel for its handling....

I did a 3.5-hour ride in the Colorado Rockies tonight. Leaving Lafayette, CO, I head north on US36 to Lyon, then 7 south and 72 to Nederland, 119 to Blackhawk and then 6 to Golden. I will post pics tomorrow after I get home, because I forgot to carry the damned USB cable with me.

Well, it sounds like a good practice for moving up to the big leagues ... when were you planning to visit Switzerland?

Here are the pics. It was an awesome ride . Not sure when I will make a return trip to Switzerland. But definitely on the plate. Yeah, I remember passing Longmont, just before I got to Boulder. I wore a blue textile JR jacket, a yellow RF1000 helmet, and riding a gray Yamaha FJR1300.

With an unknown rider:

Near Nederland:

Here is my boss's bike:

Nice photos Wookie. Must have been a nice ride on that brand new asphalt. Looks like it was a great day for a ride.

It seems like you had a great time and great weather!

Wookie, you really are a lucky man!
Darn, I wish I had a boss like yours. Well for that matter I wish I had ANYBODY that rides in the company (NOBODY rides where I work)

You rode a bike to a business dinner?
