| Muscle Biker ![]() | Well, what is he looking for? The DL is a dual-sport (IIRC), so does he want something like that? Or more of a standard bike like a Honda CBF 600 or Suzuki SV 650 or Bandit 600? Or something a bit more sporty, like a Honda CBR or Suzuki GSR? I (personally) can understand his not wanting an "old man's bike", and your not wanting him on a organ-doner bike. But there are plenty of choices in between those extremes. He should sit on some bikes and see what fits him best - and where he feels most comfortable. At 6'1", he won't be comfortable on most race-replica crotch-rockets - he'll have to fold himself up to get his feet on the pegs.

| I would humbly suggest a Suzuki M50. It's a cruiser, but its styling is a lot less Harley (i.e., chrome, studs, and leather) and more sporty. It's not a standard/dual sport like a SV650, or some of the other bikes mentioned. One of the reasons I bought one is because I liked the way it looks; the people I ride with have cruisers, but I didn't want a bike that looks like my dad's. Of course, I'm 30 years old, so maybe my tastes don't necessarily follow your son's. BUT, if you go check out the M50 forum, you'll find a lot of younger riders there. |

| Muscle Biker ![]() | Actually I would recommend the new Street Triple (675ccm) before the Speed Triple (950 or 1050ccm) for a newbie.
