Default Hydrate yourself!!!

I never thought it would happen to me, but yesterday I contracted a moderate case of heat-related illness. Symptoms included fever-like conditions, exhaustion, sore muscles, increased heart rate, and mild dizziness. It was a pretty miserable feeling, but fortunately, water & rest gave me a speedy recovery.

HYDRATE YOURSELF! Drink water throughout the day. This will hydrate the body far more efficiently than drinking water after it's too late. Heat-related illness at it's worst can cause a person to pass out, and that's the last thing you need when on two wheels.

Heat-related illness begins when the body can no longer efficiently cool itself. If you do have some of the symptoms of heat-related illness, your first priority is to cool your body by any means necessary. Second, drink lots and lots of water or Gatorade. Third, rest yourself!

Like I said, I never thought it would happen to me, but it did, and fortunately it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
