Here is what is going on:
I was asked to provide some Photos of deceased AMA racer Larry DeAnda for a benefit that the VDTRA is having in September. The proceeds of this benefit are going to provide financial aid to the DeAnda family. I was preparing the photos I had of him for printing when my hard drive crashed. The Data is fine but the motor for the drive is gone. Over the last couple of weeks I have tried every trick in the book to retrieve the data. I am now at the point that I need to send the drive to a Data Retrieval service so I can get prints made for auction in September.

To have the retrieval done locally it would me a minimum of $1,400. I have found a service on line that claims they can do it for a flat rate of $600 + shipping and I am getting quotes from others. As most of you know with my wife being injured I have no available cash to try to get the data recovered off this drive. If it wasn’t for these photos and the commitment I made I’d toss the drive.

I am asking you, the members of Motorcycle-Journal to help me to fulfill this commitment.
In my signature is a link to donate to money to help me retrieve the data off the drive. All funds donated will go to retrieving the data, if more is donated then needed I will either donate it to the benefit or use it to buy a steak.

Actually I would like to get the pic below printed on a special metallic coated paper and have it mounted to be auctioned off at the benefit. The paper has the same effect as candy paint, very cool but very expensive.

If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to post them. I don't have a lot of time left to get this done so I need your help quickly.
